Is it safe to say that the only reason that people accept evolution is because they refuse to think that there is someone or something higher than they are?
Could it be that evolution is just a trick of the mind used to escape hell but only to result in enternal punishment because they had hardened their hearts in this life?

All you need to do is open your eyes; I once believed in evolution, but then i as i researched it there were things that didn't make since, then I found Christ and all the answers were there.

What proof is there of the Big Bang? Surely to believe in evolution you must accept the Big Bang;
The Big Bang believes that nothing exploded into something....
How? Defend your theory with evidence sine it is science:

God using evolution? That is not what the Bible says at all. You can't mix the two together no matter how hard you try:
The Bible and Evolution don't mix.

Hey, Kent how's prison?
Why don't you ask something like:
Hey Evolutionists! Have you made anymore false evidence lately?

So the Big Bang:
They say it always existed? And that it will happen every 30 or so billion years? Then where in the history does time come into conception, surely it could not have begun by itself: Because space, time and matter co exist and without the other two the one could not exist. So how do you explain when it all began on the conception that the beginning of time is this dimension is quite impossible?

i have read evolution books, but they only tell half of the story in order to accept a theory i feel the need to examine both sides and to me in my opion creation makes more sense based on the actual evidence we have....

No, it is because of all the evidence that points to evolution.
On the other hand, Creationism lacks evidence (or even a coherent theory).

Yeah....Dr Dino...there's an avatar for the ages. How's that tax evasion and fraud case going?
People who accept evolution do so because of the overwhelming volume of scientific evidence that supports it. Evolution has no comment on the existence of non-existence of deities. It does show that the Genesis creation myth is just that. A creation myth. That is why fundies get so upset about evolution. If that part of the bible is untrue, and can be proven to be untrue, then the entirety of the bible is fair game.
Many Christians accept evolution as true, granted not many of them post on this site. It is the official position of the Catholic church. ( I know I know, fundies don't actually think Catholics are Christians, but that is another matter)
Many Christians accept that the bible is mostly allegory....well at least the OT. (They do get a bit twisted in logical knots when they claim the OT is allegory, but the NT is factual. )
Could it be that religious belief is just a trick of the mind to because we can't face the thought of our deaths, and the extinction of our concious minds. Could it be that the elaborate rituals and rules of religion is just a crutch so that people don't really have to live their lives knowing that this is it...no 2nd chances.

-- Sorry, nope. We accept it because of the evidence. We're smart enough to know that our feelings have nothing to do with the truth.
Could it be that evolution is just a trick of the mind used to escape hell but only to result in enternal punishment because they had hardened their hearts in this life?
-- I'd put it at a .0000000000000000000000000001% chance.

The only evidence there is of God is God,
just like the only evidence of water is water.
If you never saw water, you could never explain it because you wouldn't know if water was real, or if it was, what it was like.
The same applies to God. No-one has seen him, no-one knows for certain, & that is a irrefutable fact. Only if we see him can we know.
As for evolution, just goes to show, that anyone can think of a way we could have got here. Doesn't mean either theory, or a new theory of alien seeding, or perhaps we always were in some form or manner? (Einstein's law of conservation of energy)
Doesn't mean any are right. I suppose one day we might know? It really is anyone's guess right now. But why worry about any of it, if you can't know for sure, unless perhaps, you are AFRAID? Of? Burning in hell? For not knowing?
Don't be ridiculous, if there is a God & he does that to us, he doesn't deserve worship or praise anyway.

Evolution is scientific. God gave us science. I do agree though that the belief in evolution as the only acceptable idea for how and why we and everything around us came into being, is mankind's way of escaping the reality of the fact that God made everyone and everything. To believe in evolution to the exclusion of the belief that God made the world is easier for many people because it absolves them of that guilt they would feel when they are not being obedient to the will of God. When one does not feel accountable to God, they have no guilt.

i dont disagree with the concept that things evolve, more how they evolve and to be fair there is so much evidence to suggest evolution itself to be correct that its pretty much useless argueing it on the grand scale. i dont however believe that it disproves God. as if their is evolution there is proof that there is a plan set down- even if only genetic. perhaps you shouldn't take the bible so literarly. things can be interpreted in different ways. i think if it was true it was written for people of the time to understand.

I believe people have been presented a one sided message in an uncritical environment where asking questions or presenting contrary evidence is discouraged. sadly they come to a conclusion that those who disagree are simply unintelligent while they never allow themselves to seriously look at any evidence contrary to the belief they have latched onto. I challenge all to read a couple of books Evolution a theory in crisis by agnostic Michael Denton and The Icons of evolution by Jonathan Wells. Read this material for yourself and allow these people to present their ideas in their own words without distortions.

I don't think that all who believe the theory of evolution don't necessarily disbelieve in God. Perhaps some believe that evolution is God's way of creation. I don't believe everyone because of one belief should be put into one category, particularly that their hearts are hardened.

No.
It is because it is the most plausible explanation. Especially given the scientific evidence that proves it.
The reverse of that would be: Is it safe to say that the reason people accept religion over evolution is their desire to belive there is an afterlife and that they are not going to simply 'not exist' after their death?

Most likely people accept evolution because of all the clear evidence that it happens. Certainly there are also many who believe that a higher someone or something actually caused and controls evolution.
But thanks for trying.
