Jesus talked about the Holy Phantom, which is a carry-over from Pagan beliefs. Jesus said he would be a comforter, but he didn't go into much detail. Now they've changed that to mean he is one of three gods.
It's basically just a Pagan idea.

He is God's Spirit: the Giver of life and spiritual gifts, the Revealer (gives prophets prophecies), the Comforter, the Guide, the Strong Man....
He's one of the Divine persons of the Godhead (Trinity). Also called Holy Ghost and the Spirit of Truth.

the Holy Spirit and yourself are not seperatable. you cannot put the Holy Spirit anywhere in your being except as part of you. He is a gift from God. He is not just close to you. thats why a believer becomes Christlike. Not by law(do this , do that), but because our very person becomes like him.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is the one who leads you in truth to know God, He is the comforter to those in need.

It is the power and authority of God that lives in us after we have repented of our sins and go down into the water in the name of Jesus Christ for the washing away of those sins. Acts 2:38. Then He will give us His Spirit to overcome any bad behaviors that we have. I experienced my infilling the same way that they did in Acts 2:4, 10:45-46, 19:6 and St. Mark 16:16-17. It is the greatest high in the world. I would highly recommend that you experience ot for yourself!!

The Spirit is what helps you to know the truth. If you have a question, then ask God, and he'll reveal the truth to you through the Spirit.
