Do you really believe the US military is super powerful?

Is America the only country with great weapons? Does only America have great soldiers? Was it Americans who invented the rocket, nuclear bomb,etc? Why should America be scared of anyone?

The Americans themselves have virtually invented NOTHING without a european doing it: the rocket, nuclear bomb,etc. Today America is in a far worse situation as there are very few Americans in technology. Just visit any university and you will find their engineering and science classes generally full of Chinese and Indian students who will leave the US. This is NOT the 1930-1950's.

You need to read the question to answer it. You also need an education. You need a reading level above 6 th grade. And you need some intelligence. Arrogance and ignorance is sending America downhill. Math and science...is an impossiblility for most Americans.

This country is so heavily armed with weapons that you haven't even got a clue about that this statement of bravado is a freaking joke !!! Do you not think for a half second -- if any country ever thought that it could take us down without frying in their own juices that it would already have been a done deal ??
People like you are so freaking jealous OF the USA that you can taste it !! You make statements like this and then wonder why we hold a big stick !!

Another hard point here Einstein --- the American military has been in constant conflict at some place within the world for decades and has spilled Trillions of dollars into untold hours of combat and training --- there is no other military in the history of the world with more experience and technological back up ---all this while the military powers you speak of here have not been involved in anythng more than a couple of border skirmishes and internal conflicts in decades !!!
So, be assured of one Hard Cold Fact---any time any of you feel Froggy--- just jump !!! But be assured also that when you leap you better be ready for the heat--- for we will LIGHT YOU UP !!!!

Are you kidding??? The USN is by far the best in the world. There is absolutely no arguement against that. They have the best submarine in the Seawolf class, the biggest carriers in the Nimitz class, the best cruisers in the Ticondaroga class (no idea how to spell that), the best destoryers in the Burke class, wtc. the USN is also the biggest by tonnage. The USAF possess the best aricrafts in the world. The F-22 is better than anything the Europeans, Russians, and the Chinese have. The JSF is just as good as the F-22. Heck, even the outdated F-15 is better than most Russian and European fighters other than the Eurofighter and the Russian fourth generation fighter (which just had its prototype recenty). The USAF also has world's only true Stealth bomber in the B-2. The US army may not have the most technologica advanced weapons (the French have tanks better than the M-1 series, and the Germans have the best artillery) but if we combine both techology and quanity of weapons, the US army is still the best is the world. The US military training program is the best in the world. The US military's ordance are the best in the world. The US special forces are tops in the world, etc. The point is, while America may not be the only country with a great military, America certainly has the best military. If I have to pick a military to fight a major war with, I pick the US military in a heartbeat.

They are the most technologically advanced, and have by far the greatest amount of money to spend on fighting a war. It is not as powerful as it once was.
In WWII, the US faced a German Army that was better equipped and better trained. We won the war because of our industrial capacity. The Germans shot down our planes and blew up our tanks - we just made more, and quickly. They simply could not keep up with our assembly lines, i.e. we had more resources. In the end, it was a joint effort of the American soldier and the American worker who won the war.
Though we are not quite a paper tiger, our industrial base is gone. We lack the factories to keep up with a full scale war like WWII. Back then, auto manufactures just changed their assembly lines and started making tanks and planes. What would we do now? Ask China to make them for us?
We lack the will to fight and win. Our morality has disappeared, we are not the great people we once were.
Right now, we're still the strongest - but it's only a matter of time.

I believe the US military is the greatest military in the world. We haven't ever been on the losing side of a major war in history. America isn't the only country with great weapons, but it is the only country that seems to know the right balance between military spending and spending on other things (except since Bush has been in office). America was the first to deploy a Nuke, however I have heard theories that say other countries might have had some before us (but none worked as good as ours). Many countries have great soldiers, in fact, many have better soldiers than we do. There are countries that have every man in that country participating at some point in his life in the military. I doubt we would ever have enough brave soldiers to have kamikaze pilots be historically known in large numbers, but don't get me wrong they are well trained and well suited to defend and attack. America should be scared only when our resources are spread too thin. When we have a leader that is using the military like they are his toys. When billions of dollars are spent on destroying a country and starting a war with someone that isn't a threat. When people are scared to join the military because they can't see just cause in the war we are in today. When we can't fight against the countries that do pose a threat to us because of other stupid deployments. Whenever you are fighting a war against a group of people that span several different countries not another country's military organization you will never win outright. And that is where we are today. I am scared today.

It's certainly powerful, but not efficient.

They've lost most wars since WW2.

They spend more than the next 20 nations combined, and I don't see much value for money.

The Americans do have some good technology, but British soldiers are the finest in world.

I think the sheer might of the US military and the professionalism of the British military make a good combination. And let's not forget our other allies like Canada, Australia etc...

I do, Americans did invent the heat-seeking missile, which is widely in use today. I believe they also invented or improved upon smart bomb technology. I can't think of many countries that have an army, marines, a navy, an air force and a national guard. I can't think of countries that have fleets of ships, aircraft carriers, aircraft and tons of trained soldiers. At least; I can't think of any countries opposed to America that has these things.

Hmm well america did invent the airplane (wright bros), stealth fighters, and probably plenty of other stuff i cant think of. There are plenty of other countries with great soldiers and there are plenty of others with great weapons. its just seems to me that america has the most advanced military technologically which in the end is what really matters. how we use this power is another story

they seem to be a great potential now. yet militarily, i don't think of every physique will ever prefer to have a militia as large and intense priced as ours is. no person desires 12 service battlegroups. Their "airplane vendors" are Kiev classification cruisers that isn't be able to even cope with an entire sized jet. it is all they'll prefer for the South China Sea. they have by no potential been imperialists like we are. they have a tendency to effect countries by using making corporation deals and giving foreign places help, not by using militia rigidity, which they have a lot of in case you count huge form their huge military.

The US military is hide-bound, lost in political infighting and serves primarily as a cash cow for its contractors.

Besides, if Israel and China refused to supply us, all the money in the world would do no good. Manufacturing and energy production, technology and well-supplied troops would all be beyond our grasp.

If you measure military power by quantity (2nd largest in the world behind China) and by quality (easily the most technologically advanced), then I'd say it's a pretty easy argument to make.
