Hello everyone, here's the thing;
I've had two clutches from my initial zebra finches. I had separated the first clutch when my parent female started laying new eggs, after the new clutch were fledglings, I put the first babies back in. Now the older male teases the fledglings and his parents.. He actually teases everyone. I really want to keep them in one cage and I'm wondering whether it is a process of finding his status in the cage? They are a total of seven. Can it also be being in a relatively small cage maybe? (cage dimensions: 50x30x70cm) I will be buying a much bigger cage very soon by the way.. saving money for it.
thanks for your help

It probably does have a lot to do with the lack of space. I would seperate him from the rest until they can all be released into the new cage at the same time.

You should also remove all nests now that the last chicks have fledged. They do not need them to sleep in, it only encourages breeding. You don't want to encourage the offspring to mate. That would lead to all kinds of birth defects in the young.

Seperate them and place them in two seperate cages. I think you have two male xebra finches.

This happened to me about 30 years ago. I accidentally bought two male zebra finches, and they fought constantly until I bought another bird cage.
