sorry, those are just urban legends. wikipedia gives some background stories of how these stories developed.

Not sure about panadol, but when I was at the beach I seen someone throw alkaseltzer tabs to the birds and they exploded.

it has to be asprin the one that bubbles and disolves in water , not just plain panadol , and im not sure if they blow up (explode) there stomach acid reacts with the asprin and expands until they die. seagulls or pigeons are the best because they will eat anything.
