He came up the stairs and have it all over his face, we brushed it out of his teeth and I called the vet right away. He informed me that he will have the runs and stuff. It has been a couple days and he is kinda getting better, (we have put the litter up so he can't get it). Is there anything I can do to help settle his stomach? He is a 4.5 month old black lab?

If that's the worst thing your lab eats, consider yourself lucky!

Labs are pretty tough and most items make their way through in a few days time...

Ok, I thought this was funny b/c I have 2 dogs that use to do the same thing! It's grooooooos, but for some reason the dogs like the kitty poo! (GROOS) My dogs never really did get sick from eating it, they just had really bad breath..(YUCK) So, the way we resolved the issue was buy putting up a baby gate to keep the dogs from getting in the room w/ the box..

To settle his stomach, does you dog have access to grass in your yard? My dogs love grass and i've heard that it will help settle there tummies & it's also good for them!!

Good luck and hope he get's 2 feelin better!

ok put the litter box in a room that can be sealed by a gate or door. Since your dog is going to be large (and prob. already is!!) put a small cat door in the wall to that room. This way you dont have to monitor the litter box and your cat can still use it w/o your dog getting to it!!

GOOD LUCK

Sorry this is not what you asked for, but its a good idea. As for the stomach ache how about some grass? It may make dogs throw up but I calms their stomach.

You can try feeding him really bland food in small portions four-six times a day (Like Plain chicken and white rice) That's what the vet had me do when my dog was throwing up and had the runs.

I have a black lab too. You are probably finding out labs will eat anything that doesn't move (and some things that do). My suggestion: ginger, ginger and ginger; slices of fresh, fresh ginger made into a tea or crystalized ginger. Works great for people too.

If he has the runs, give him rice and cooked hamburger.
