I've tried various serums, but just can't seem to get it right.

Thanks!

Make sure you get frequent trims to get all the split ends off, when you dry your hair use a warm setting. Also, put just a dab of VO5 hairdressing on it, it will smooth your hair out and give it a nice look without looking wet or oily.

Get a deep conditioning treatment from a local salon. They will wash your hair, and then put a mixture of deep conditoners in it. Then, they will set you under the hair dryer and the heat from the dryer with open up your hair follicles, pushing the conditioners in, and then when you are done under the dryer, they will rinse your hair with cool water closing the hair follicles again, but keeping the moisture in from the conditioners. You will get that shiny look you are looking for. Also, to give it an even healthier look, you could get a fresh haircut or trim before the deep conditioning treatment so you will have hydrated hair without split ends.

I wish Fatbaby would not speak for the entire Race. Serums are great for all hair type, it just depends on what you want to achieve or correct. If your hair lacks luster(shiny&soft), get a serium w/ dimethicone and/or cyclomethicone in it. This helps to seal in moisture which will make you hair soft and it leaves a nice shiny coat on the hair, which makes your hair feel silky when you run your hands through. You may want to put a moisturizing leave-in conditioner first, depending on your hair type, not your race(fatbaby),then seal in in w/ the above described serum.

Depends on if you are black or white. If you are white I recommend mousse.. or a light styling gel. There are also many other new creme and gel products you can use.
I assume you are not black because we don't use serums in our hair...

Try the John Frieda Beach spray stuff, it makes your hair look like you just got home from the beach.
