I have a purebred, non registered Yorkie and a purebred, non registered Maltese. I want to stud them out but I have no clue how much to charge for a stud fee. I live in British Columbia, Canada.

Nothing - if they are unregistered they should not be used for breeding.

Well, if you want an honest answer, people pay stud fees for registered dogs. If getting your signature didn't matter why would they pay you? They would just borrow your dog for a little while. That would make dogs less safe and more prone to being stolen. People pay more for stud frees of quality registered dogs and even more for stud fees on titled (as in Champion) quality registered dogs. Some Champions have slightly higher fees than others. Their owners like to think that is based on quality, we hope their owners are right (always another day another dog show, and a different judge). Anyway I've been in dogs since the 60s and I have no idea why anyone would seek to pay a fee for an unregistered dog.

No dog should be used at stud if unregistered and not having the relevant health tests for the breed. It is irresponsible to allow them to be used at stud as any resultant puppies you should consider your responsibility too. Using dogs at stud can also alter their behaviour, They can become increasingly dog aggressive and I'm assuming they live together you could end up with two dogs trying to kill each other. At best they will start to c0ck their legs in the house.
My best advice is to leave them as the wonderful pets they should be not use them as breeding machines.

If you don't have papers for your dogs.. No breeder will let you breed with their Dog. Well let put it this way any AKC breeder. Or in your case CKC since you live in Canada.

If you should fine one then the stud service is a price of one puppy. And your stud should be a year old.

1. No real breeder will touch them if they are unregistered and unproven (never shown and not champions)
