The relationship lasted for four years (we broke up last year), so the only one I've ever been in has been pretty long-term. . .but still, I'm starting to feel a little left behind. All of my friends are getting married and engaged and stuff, and I don't even have the possibility of a relationship on the horizon. Has anyone else here been in the same situation? Are you STILL in that situation, or did you find someone? It's not, like, of utmost importance or anything, but I would eventually like to find someone to spend my life with.

I'm in the same type of situation except I have had a few couple more than you. I just stayed with Mr. Wrong too long. You just have to get back out there and try. At least you know you are capable of a long term relationship. He just wasn't the right guy for you. Be alone is alot better than just being with someone to have somebody. Supposedly I have heard the right guy comes along when you least expect it. Right now just concentrate on yourself.

Like you, I was in a long term relationship for many years. We met as teenagers and I thought we would marry but didn't. Do not compare your situation to those of your friends. Their circumstances might be different. Life changes, often for reasons beyond your control. Relationships are not easy.
Just try to get out and about, doing things you enjoy, and you will meet someone with similar interests. Most likely, you will find the right person when you aren't actually looking. That's what happened to me!

First, congrats. It's hard to find anyone, male or female, these days that haven't had SEVERAL partners. You should be proud.

Second, put yourself out into the wonderful world of dating more often...do things you enjoy, whether it's clubbing, coffee shops, bookstores, etc...that way you'll be sure to meet someone who shares similar interests.

Third, You're hot...you should have NO TROUBLE in the dating department :)

I completely have been where you are and I am still there. It is so painful. I just got out of my first real relationship and I'm 24. It sucks and it makes me wonder all the time what's wrong with me.
