No offense is intended by this question. I seriously wonder how someone becomes overweight eating vegetables or fruit.

Because they eat pounds of veggies at a time,and they drown them in butter.
Lack of exercise might be part of it too.

to much sugar, i have an aunt and uncle who are comlpete vegans, no eggs, milk, butter, cheese, in other words nothing from animals, but they love the sweet stuff, so in other words the more sugar you eat the more insulin your body produces and we all know were the excess goes, around our middle. their complete vegans, and extremely obese. By the way you cant get fat from eating fruits and veggies.

Vegetarians don't strictly eat just veggies. Carbs that are not burned off or fat from any meal can result in weight gain

It's not what you eat, it's how much.

They don't just eat veggies and fruit; there's lots of carbohydrates in the picture as well.

metabolism, genetics, etc. plus there are a lot of fattening foods that are not related to meat/fish etc.
