Jeep. Chevy Equinox is a piece of you know what, and gets horrid gas mileage. Go to autotrader.com and go to the research and compare area. Put the two models up head to head on the compare charts and see what you think. You can do all sorts of safety research as well at auto trader. I am going to be purchasing a SUV in the next 6 months or so, and I have done all sorts of research on Chevy, GMC, Jeep, Honda, Ford, Nissan and Toyota. I personally like Jeeps a lot. I'm telling you, go there and do the research.
Oh yeah, and you can also get reviews from different companies that take out the cars and test drive them. They rate them and explain what they like and don't like.

If you decided to buy either you should wait to see if there is going to be a merge. Me I would get the Chevy. Personal preference. It seems the Equinox gets better gas mileage.

Buy the Wrangler. The Equinox is built by GM's Deawoo division in Korea. Deawoo went bankrupt due to poor quailty. GM bought them out.
