Can anyone tell me if Raynaud's phenomenon can be triggered by tanning beds. I have all the symptoms quite often, but after tanning recently I discovered these tiny bumps on my fingers and my hads are extra cold and swollen. The bumps are very tiny and not really red...can't even see them but they are sore like blisters and you can feel them if you run your fingers across them. Anyone know what it is?

Raynaud's phenomenon is an abnormal vascular reaction to cold temperatures. It does not cause bumps or blisters, and it is not affected by exposure to ultraviolet radiation or warmth from a tanning bed.

There is a reaction to sunlight called polymorphous light eruption that causes swelling, rash, and bumps. This is likely what's going on. If so, you are spending too much time under the lamp, and need to build up your tan more slowly, or avoid tanning beds altogether.

Do you have any other symptoms like joint pain or stiffness? Fever? Fatigue? I had Raynard's and was later diagnosed with lupus. see a doctor
