Defenitely not too young! I had my ears pierced when I was only a few months old, and wore them until I was in 1st grade! SOme of my favorite pieces of jewelery are the ones I got when I was little. I suggest the intial, as well as a jewelery box for her to keep it in. Something small, but sweet "Just like you!" lol.

I don't think so. Make a big deal out of it. She's getting to be such a big girl and so on and so forth and deserves a nice piece of jewelry all her own. Perhaps you might get her a nice little jewelry box and tell her how about when she does her bedtime routine that she can take it off and keep it in there safe while she sleeps.
My older daughter is 3 and I've already gotten both her and my 1yo their own necklaces. They're good jewelry with their names engraved on the front and the date that my husband and I got married on the back. (They were our junior bride and flower girl.) It was completely adorable!
I think that is completely adorable. Personal opinion, I'd go with the gold initial. It seems to personal and really all hers then. :)

No way is she too young! Girls that age adore jewelry. If it's "good" jewelry, her mom should take care of it and decide when it's appropriate to be worn--i.e. my daughter received a lovely silver ID bracelet for being a flower girl when she was 3 and I keep it in my jewelry and decide when she can wear it.

Definitely not! My friend's little girl has been loving and collecting jewelry since she was 3. I think she has more than I do LOL! I wouldn't spend a whole lot, but I'm sure she'll love it.
I can't wait until my little girl is old enough, I would like to get her something for her 3rd birthday...too bad is 2 1/2 years away!

No 5 is not too young. My daughter has had jewelry since she was born and she is now 3 and wears it when there is a special occasion or a holiday and she loves it.

My daughter will be 3 in April and loves jewelry. We just get her costume jewelry though but I have seen 1 year olds with jewelry on like bracelets and what not. If you expect her to keep it nice and not break it, i wouldn't hold your breath too long on that. You definetly don't want her playing on the playground with them on though just because they can get stuck on a toy or something and choke her.
If you don't mind spending the money and you know she'll like it and take precautions on where she wears them. All is fine :)

No, not at all. I teach 4 year olds and many of the girls wear jewelry all the time. I was really surprised at how young they are.
