so i have been best friends with this guy for 5 yrs and we have both liked each other and now im ready and he is ready to take it to a new level is this a good idea or not

Hey sug,
first ask yourself these questions:
am I just lonely right now?
am I willing to take the chance of losing a friend if it doesn't work out?
Are your feelings for him deep, or is this an just exciting crush?
Do you go through "phases" of crushing on him, and then change your mind?
Basically, you have to weigh the pros and cons, and decide if your friendship is worth the risk. It's easy to say that if it doesnt work out, that you can just go back to being friends...but this is rare, and its often never the same. Some people think that b/c you guys get along so well, it means your relationship will be the same- but theres a lot more to deal with in a relationship.
I would give it some time and really think about it. If you decide to go for it- I really hope it lasts, and I wish you the best girl.

It depends. As you said 5 years is a long time to really decide whether or not you both want something more. But advice: Be careful remmember a bad move in the relationship can end years of friendship.

i dont know what it is with these so called "social" rules
hey if he is your best friend, maybe dating him is not a bad idea
it will be akward at first, but just think of it,
he is probably the one who knows most of your secrets,
he probably knows you better than most people,
he is your best friend cuz you both get along very well
he probably liked you a long time ago, and maybe thats how you both became best friends
it all depends on how you think of each other. if you think it wud b really wierd if yall hooked up, maybe your not making the right choice. if you think it can really be somthing... go 4 it
it all comes down to one thing,,, do you like him? does he like you? then nothing else matters.

I think that its a good idea...I mean if u wanna try a relenship then go ahead. I think its better to be friends with someone before dating them. and u said that ui have been friends for 5 years so yea its ok. but if u breakup just rememeber that hes ur best friends and dont let that breakup ur relenship

It's better to have someone you know really well to be your boyfriend because he knows both sides of you, as a friend, and as a girlfriend from your experiences with other guys. That could be good or bad, but since you've both liked eachother then go for it and see what happens. And if it just isn't working then tell him that you liked yourselves better as just really good friends and maybe he'd understand.

Honestly I do not think that that is a good idea, what happenes if the two of you fall apart? What will happen to your friendship? Will it be weird after? Are you willing to loose that? Those are some of the things that you have to consider while thinking if the two of you should go out. Is this all worth it?

It all on how you look at it if he really really closse friend and you dont want to lose that bond then dont do it bc if you guys break up for a bad reason you might not talk to him ever again..But if you really like him and you think it going to work then try it out but your basiclly taking a 50-50 chance

well it realy depends because if u guys go out and it turns out great than good but what if it dosent than u guys may never be friends again soo i would give it a chance because if u guys are that close than it should be great.

properly looking on how plenty he likes you, according to risk he purely had to be that particular guy to take your virginity jointly together with his. depends on your age if your under 24 . Bad idea your not ready for marriage and chances are it wont work out and you'll lose your best friend.
