I'm going to install a new front door and frame this weekend with my dad's help (he's a licensed contractor). I was wondering how long this process usually takes so I can plan our day appropriately.

Also, did you run into any unforseen problems or have to make a trip back to the hardware store?

If this is a normal replacement door, it should take about a half a day, assuming that you have all of the materials at hand and have measured accurately for the new door. I wouldn't worry too much about this project if I were in your shoes. Your dad's experience should make this job go smoothly.

Good luck with your door project.

Your Dad is a contractor. He will bring enough stuff and tools to build a house, let alone install a front door. If you want to go out somewhere, just go, he'll look after it for you.
