Find a German class in your local city college.
Borrow books or tapes from your public library.
Find anyone in your school or church or neighborhood who is German. Ask them for help. Or ask them to put you touch with someone who can help.

If you can't remember a noun, use 'Zug'. If you can't remember a verb, it's 'Schlagen'. If you can't remember an adjective ending, mutter confidently. Say either 'genau' or 'doch' at least once in every sentence.
Works for me.
