how can u describe nandu's to some body without saying its name?

I agree with all the above. It's overrated and the food not exactly exciting. (having said that i had it last night - my excuse is we only had 30 minutes before the cinema)

basically they just serve chicken you have a small choice of sauces (lemon & herb, medium, hot, extra hot peri-peri sauces) and sides (rice, chips, coleslaw etc). It's portuguese or meant to be basically because of the peri peri sauce.

Anyway the food comes pretty quick, it's edible and probably worth trying once.

I can't understand how they built an international chain on it though.

If you mean Nando's it's nasty, over-rated and overpriced. If you mean Nandu's I've never heard of it

chicken restaurant where you order at the counter
you have to get your own plates and cutlery
they specialise in spicy sauces
the foods not that great and it is overated (my opinion)

nando's - amazing chicken, hot & spicy sauces to choose from, excellent cheesecake desert!

nicer than fast food - tasty chicken! and good value too.
