for those that answed my "my female cat has gone missing has anyone had this happen and her return safely"

well we have got her back someone seen the ad i put in our local paper and gave us a call, and she had been with them for a few days they took her in and fed her as she looked thin. i just want to say a BIGGGGGGGGG THANKYOU to all of you that gave us hope it did help, it was eight days today she had been gone and we really didnt think she would return we held a little hope and that little bit of hope paid pff, her sister that we also have didnt seem keen she was home as she keeps hissing at her but hopefully this will fade in a day or two when she has got used to her being back, they got on so well before and it will be lovely to see them sleep huddled together again!!! xx

this is for catloverm and anyone else that agrees with this reply!!!! not sure where you live but in the uk most cats go outside, i do not agree with keeping them in if i wanted a caged animal i would have a hampster or gerbil, so i dont think its a lesson that i have to learn, i love my cats but im not a circus act that keeps animals locked up!!

I'm so glad to hear she is back safe and sound.

Put a small amount of vanilla extract on the two cats' heads and under the tail - or scented hand lotion. That way they will smell alike to one another and reduce the hissing.

Congratulations, I know how it feels when you get the safe return of a pet. I my self do have 5 cats that are indoor only (can't get them to go out for nothing) and 9 that are indoor/outdoor. Just be sure and keep up on all her shots as needed to keep her healthier. I had one cat that was gone for 9 months and came back on her own, she got a vet trip the next day and was found to have worn her claws to the bone. The vet said someone had her trapped, perhaps in their home, but she managed somehow to come home.
