i think co-hibiting allows you to live with your love, and since people change and life change, it also gives you extra flexbility to change your life partner if things don't work out, why people still get married?

I wonder about the same thing, but some marriages end up being a good thing so it's like natural selection, and people have to try, it's nature. I haven't tried because I don't like taking risks

That's a cowardly approach to life.

It takes courage to take a final step and effort to make that relationship work. Life partner.... hmmmmm look up the meaning of life. It seems that you think you can find one in a week or two of losing the last one. If you're each not willing to give 100%, then you are right... don't get married... you will be another statistic.

I've had 30+ years with the same man. If I look back on our life together... yes it looks like a mountain range, full of peaks and valleys.. more peaks I'm happy to say.

But have you ever seen a sunrise or a sunset over a mountain range?

It's beautiful.. and worth every minute of the wait.

While marriage does bring with it extra responsibility, it is well worth it. My wife and I lived together for 3 years before we got married and I used to think that a piece of paper wouldn't make a difference, but I was wrong. Even after our long relationship, getting married took us to another level in our relationship. We are closer than ever, more in love than ever and the sex is even better....and I didn't think that was possible! The fact that you make a commitment to each other to be there for each other in better or worse makes your love so much stronger and more meaningful!

Great question. There must be something very amazing about it because some pepole do it two or three times and still don't get it right. Maybe it's the joint tax filing or just peer group pressure?
OK, I guess they do it for the kids.

Well, it does bring extra responsibility but it only brings problems if you are not ready for the responsibility.
