Hi I answered you already, but I want to say that I too have a $6000 budget and I'm managing to get it all done (though I did have a lot of help from my fiance's brothers who are providing some services through their jobs for free as a gift to us). But I'm wondering if you think about a resort or cruise by going through a travel agency (not necessarily Apple, but any one) you would be require to put a small amount down (ours was 250 but we put 400) and then make monthly payments. Think about the money you waste each month on fast food, bought lunches instead of carrying, parking instead of busing it- you probably have at least $150 - $200 right there, that's your honeymoon! You have to budget and prioritize, trust me, we have nine children between us(five at home with me and four with his ex) and when we decided to get married our main stipulation was that we "get away" before life got complicated. It can be done, you may just have to make sacrifices now (and find ways to cut back on wedding expenses). Good luck.

Have a wedding and a honeymoon at the same time. Do a destination wedding or elope, there will be plenty of cash to spare. You can also consider a going on a 4 day cruise to mexico or the Bahamas, you can get then very cheap before the summer.
If you want to drive, try Cape Cod (Chattam)in Massachussets and rent a beach house. Newport, Rhode Island has beautiful bed and breakfasts, New Hampshire has beautiful and affordable b&b by the mountains.
Good luck
Good luck and congrats

I'm an East Coast kid transplanted in the West. Many of my fondest memories are of the northeastern seaboard and New England. Why not just rent a nice cozy room at an off-the-road inn or motel and spend three lazy and loving days together? You will have so much to do when you get back and you'll be tired when you begin your honeymoon together, that making it a restful, personal, quiet time may be just what you need.
It's a shame so much is put on honeymoons. A honeymoon isn't really a place, it's an attitude and a choice as to how you and your new husband choose to spend that precious time together. Heck, if you spent it in your back yard in a tent and had the time of your lives doing so, then your honeymoon will always provide you with warm and loving memories.
I hope your wedding is blessed by angels and that your lives together as a family is orchestrated by our loving Creator. Annie

How much do you actually have set aside for the Honeymoon? I personally would wait until mid-summer to early autumn and drive up to Central New York State, book a Bed and Breakfast and explore wine country. It's inexpensive (most wineries only charge a few dollars each to do a full tasting, but many are free), and it's really beautiful. Plus there are plenty of state parks (I reccommend Taughannock park in Ithaca) for romantic picnics, and Ithaca has some of the best dining around.

Some great places nearby Allentown include:
* the Poconos
* Atlantic City
* New York City
* Philadelphia
* Hershey Park
* the Jersey Shore
You could probably have a nice 3-day honeymoon in any of those locations. If your car's not up for the trip, you could either rent one, borrow one from a friend, or even take a train to your destination.
Contact a real estate agent or check CraigsList.org for cabins/Shore houses that you could rent. If your wedding is soon, you might save money on house rentals since it's the off-season.
For activities, go to your local library or bookstore (or check eBay/Amazon.com) and look for "The Idiot's Guide" books and the "Lonely Planet" books. They are great guidebooks that give you suggested activities, hotels, restaurants and points of interest for different places. I used the Idiot's Guide to Boston for a recent trip to Boston and it was a valuable resource. I got it on eBay for about $7.
I also own "Lonely Planet USA and Canada on a Shoestring," which is a FANTASTIC guide for money-saving ideas. I got it at Barnes & Noble: http://www.amazon.com/Lonely-Planet-Canada-Shoestring-Guides/dp/1740596528/ref=sr_1_8/104-5678364-2065550?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173301078&sr=8-8

Why not do a destination wedding... then you can have the honeymoon in the same place. My husband and I got married in Gatlinburg TN. Everything including our formal wear and lodging came to like $3000. There was no waiting period. We called the chapel, set up a date, drove up there, got our marriage license, got married and had a ball.
Check out this website if you are interested... and I can also send you pictures of our wedding.

(the preserve actually has a chapel on site...and very beautiful...we stayed here for our honeymoon... the Appalachian villas are awesome!)

I didn't see your first post, but I think you should get a room at a bed & breakfast in New Hope or someplace like that. If you don't mind driving a short distance, go to Boston, Baltimore or New York City. Atlantic City is a good option too. If you are getting married in the summer just get a hotel down at the Jersey Shore for a few days. Inexpensive and fun!!

Somethings I heard about was taing a Honey moon a little later down the road (say wait a month)
That way you don't have to come home from a beautiful honeymoon then get to writing thank you cards. So write them out, get settled in your new home, save up some more money and really relax.
God Bless

You could take a drive to Cape Cod, depending on when your getting married. There are plenty of things to do there between memorial day and labor day, if your not getting married in that time frame, then the Cape is a ghost town. There are great things to do also in the Pocono's romantic walks, waterfalls, beautiful sights. Both places you could find many things to do that don't cost much money but will just give you fond memories. Good luck.

You could go to Busch Gardens in Virginia or West Virginia (or wherever it is.) I went their when I was younger and I had a blast. Or if you've never been to Hershey that's really cool place to go. It really depends on what you want to do. If you guys are young at heart and love amusement parks then yeah go to Busch Gardens. Or if you are more adventurous and free-spirited and like nature try to find some cabins somehwhere. Or the beach isn't too far away, if you like that kind of thing. That is really the first question that you need to ask yourself. Good Luck!
