Okay, I straighten my hair everyday (except on the weekends) and I also dye my hair..
My hair is now "rough" and doesn't feel silky and soft anymore..I also have about a million split ends..and my hair is starting to break off. I use conditioner everyday that says it is supposed to moisturize hair and prevent breakage.
I want to keep straightening my hair everyday but I don't want to ruin my hair. Any suggestions?

For one, stop using so much heat on your hair, that causes more damage. Two, your hair feels rough because of all the split ends. You need to clip your split ends off completely because it'll just keep breaking off and causing more split ends. Next, dont use a leave in conditioner everyday, you're doing more harm than good. You're using too much product on your hair. Instead, on the weekends wash your hair and get a very good conditioner like tresemme or pantene pro-v (or whichever you prefer), apply it to your hair right after washing and put on a plastic cap, that will lock in the moisture and help to also moisturize your scalp. When you blow dry your hair, apply an additional moisturizer (i know garnier has one) and use a diffuzer instead of just the blow dryer alone. Straighten your hair and wrap it up at night with a silk scarf (silk prevents your hair from rubbing out and creating split ends). Its alot easier that what it sounds! Try it, I'll garauntee it works! :)

i know what you mean i use to have the same problem. Cut off your split ends if it was like me you might have to cut of 2 inches or more depending on how bad the damage is. But once you do that your hair won't be rough anymore. When you shampoo your hair try not to leave any shampoo in your hair cuz it dries it out try using the coldest water you can handle and don't use too much conditioner it will make your hair feel dull and greasy. Use infusion-23 leave in conditioner its for damage hair when you straighten it. Its great i use it all the time do it after you get out of the shower. Use serum and put it in the ends of your hair don't put it in the roots Let your hair dry don't blow-dry it cuz too much heat will damage your hair more. If your hair gets poofy if you let it air dry put it in a bun so it won't get poofy. Use heat protectant good ones like Tresseme but there are other ones just ask a employee in a drugstore. You should also use a really good flat iron like Sedu or a Bion. One inch are the best straightners to get cuz you have more control over it. And about once a week use deep conditioning!

Buy 'matrix' sleek products and use daily. There is a thermal spray as well as conditioners, deep cond. and shampoos. the thermal spray will help protect your hair from damage of your flat iron. flat iron setting should be set around mid range to avoid further damage. it will take longer to do, but if you take smaller sections it wont be bad. Also, get a good hair cut. Sounds like you have some build up, so use a clarifying shampoo once a week only.

Try the garnier fructis hair mask and use it every day to moisturize ur hair. It works REALLY WELL! i had the same problem as u. Or use any other deep conditioning treatment that is a leave-in they all work to prevent split ends, moisturize and make ur hair smooth and soft.
