I think you should go with a literalist interpretation for your pinata. A ghost ala Scooby Doo - with lots of holes all over it. It's easier for the candy to come out if its already holey anyway. YUM!

If you want to deny the Holy Spirit, do it in your own home. Deliberately pissing people off isn't very nice.
