Our kids gave us a $50 certificate for the Keg. I had a really good steak. The $50 cert. didn't even cover it. It would have been worth it if they offered a salad as a side. Too expensive. Then they went and built a new one around the corner from the one we went to. A friend said that the order that we both got, was now $7 more and that was a couple of years ago. We won't be going back. We prefer
Montana's that moved to town 2 yrs. ago. The food is good and really reasonable.

I went to the Four Season hotel in New York and spent a hundred dollars on a steak (aprox 86 quid at the time). A steak for God's sake. It was good but I was equally happy with a $1 hot dog I had bought 2 hours earlier in Central Park.

Once, I had an unexpected large amount of company, mostly kids, and little food in the house. I had gathered up about 5 pounds of Morels (mushrooms) from the woods behind the house. I breaded them and fried them up, then told the kids they were chicken nuggets. Later I found out they were selling for about $12 an ounce. If I had bought them, they would have been a very expensive snack (about $960), but the kids enjoyed them with their kool-aid.

Probably a Japanese restaurant. Five exquisite courses, it was fantastic, about twice the amount i would normally pay but well worth it.

Started off with sushi selection and ended with fried green tea ice cream. Ice cream dipped in light batter and flash fried ... like baked Alaska, the ice cream inside stays frozen and the outside was light and crispy!

One time i went to Florence Italy for my birthday and i had a Florentine steak ... Absolutely huge it covered the plate ...gorgeous rib eye steak grilled with lemon. Because it was so huge (and delicious) it was very expensive indeed. Had wonderful bottle of Chianti to wash it down and french fries and salad on the side!!!

Memories!!

SUSHI IS EXPENSIVE!!!!! I've ate that before at a restraunt and at home we had people come by selling this rare meat that they sell to certain restraunts. They sold us some really good steaks for $250 a box.

The spice saffron has built a reputation for being more expensive than gold -- fetching up to $2,700 per pound in recent years.

And then there's caviar. A recent U.N. ban on the international trade of Beluga caviar from the Black Sea and Caspian Sea is expected to cause a sea change on the prices for existing stock. What say you to $2,400 for a one-pound tin of black fish eggs?

I had Beef Wellington at the Camelback Inn in Phoenix. I actually had a coupon where I bought one meal and got the second one free. I don't remember what my husband ate, but our bill came to $150 (without tip).
