Yes it is just because you live in the states and are exposed to their special brand of christianity constantly (it is a very different religion in the US than in the next country or even the old country) and yes they truly believe the universe revolves around the Super American Christian!

I'm not sure whether you give Christians so much attention because you consider some to be narcissist or you simply want to find a reason to complain, but just in case it's the latter:

Christianophobia

A number of words have appeared with the suffix -phobia, in which "phobia" is understood as a negative attitude towards certain categories of people or other things, used in an analogy with the medical usage of the term. Usually these kinds of "phobia" are is described as fear, dislike, disapproval, prejudice, hatred, discrimination, or hostility towards the object of the "phobia". Often this attitude is based on prejudices and is a particular case of general xenophobia.

A fear or hatred is not always considered a phobia in the clinical sense because it is believed to be only a symptom of other psychological problems, or the result of ignorance, or of political or social beliefs. In other words, unlike clinical phobias, which are usually qualified with the word "irrational", phobias of attitude usually have roots in social relations.

I'd say it's because you live in the US. Where I live, Canada, the only time I hear Christians whine endlessly is when I see clips of Fox News on the Internet, or read forums that Americans frequent.

I would say your second answer was right....they truly believe the universe revolves around them. And yes, it happens primarily in the U.S. The only downfall of religious freedom....

Your perception of christian narcism coincides quite nicely with your american egocentrism. (Me being an american as well.) Every country complains about their religious zealots, we just have the freedom to do it openly. Some countries are run by the rules of their religion -- if that isn't the pinnacle of fanaticism....

According to our God, His bible, and His Son Jesus, the only way for any of us mortals to go to His Heaven is by asking Jesus to become our saviour. There is no other way. Of course, I won't try to blow you up, if you disagree. But I will say that at the end of it all, they who stand with the truth and He whom authors it shall prevail and all the rest will be bundled up like weeds and thrown out.

Because a lot of Christians believe that they speak in behalf of God.

You are in trouble Irish...you have to offer three impartial, reliable sources and empirical or observable proof to make such a statement. No...I believe narcissism belongs to another group by definition and admission. Do you even know what narcissism is? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
