If so, I want to say 'thanks'. I got 3 packets. I don't know if that was from 3 different people or the same person. So thank you for doing that. It wasn't for the red blood cells, it was your white blood cells saved my life.

Sam - I think you are kidding. The pain isn't that bad, and I also had a bone marrow tap so I think the 'pain' of donating is worth the benefits to know you are saving someone. So that is why I wanted to say 'thanks'

That's great to hear!! I have donated a little over 10 gallons in my lifetime and God willing, I'll give 10 more!
Hope you continue to get stronger and stronger.

I have donated blood in the past, but tomorrow I start donating platelets (takes about 2 hrs). They take your blood out then take the platelets out and put your blood back in. The platelets are the things that stop bleeding. They say it takes 6 pints of blood donations to = 1 time platelet donating... Might as well if I have it to spare.

YES, AND OH MY GAWD DID IT HURT LIKE H---. THE PAIN, THE PAIN, OH MY GAWD THE PAIN. IT IS SEARED IN MY BRAIN FOREVER. I WILL NEVER, EVER, DO IT EVER AGAIN!!
Seriously, I'm not sure why anyone in this day in age has any qualms about giving blood. It seems like such an obvious thing to do. Such a huge upside (see above) with the downside being a little prick in the arm.

:( No. I want to but I'm afraid of needles.
But I'm very happy to see that a blood donator saved your life.
