I have the sneezes, headaches, run down and a dry, tickly throat. My throat/neck feels swallon, but how do I know if I have swallon glands? Please dont tell me to go doctors because if its just flu, I dont want to waste their time.

Place your two sensitive fingers, the same ones you use to take the pulse, against the neck under the chin. Then move the fingers slowly, feeling the underlying tissues through the skin, until you get to the part of the jaw just in front of the ear. Feel under and behind the ear.

Press ever so gently as you approach the ear. How do you feel?

You can even sense, without touching, if you're swollen. And if your nasal passages are congested, there's a chance they are.

Also, look in the mirror. Have a friend or relative look with a small powerful flashlight in your ears. Ask them how do they look?

Not satisfied? Go to a good doctor. Don't go to the public health unless you are poor. Go to a reputable small clinic which will charge you an arm or a leg. If there is a plague, you may wish to know sooner than wait too late.

Well you might not want to hear it. but if this problem keeps going for a couple of days, that's where you need to go. In the mean time, you said your throat felt swollen. it's because your glands are. Drink lots of liquids, chicken soup, take extra vit. c and get lots of rest, and tylenol for the fever. Good luck hope you feel better soon.
