my ex-boyfriend and i go to two different colleges 45 minutes away. i just joined a sorority, and am meeting a TON of new people and i feel like i do not want to be missing out on college life if i'm tied down to one person, which is why i broke up with him. we both still love each other and talk everyday, but i just can't be in a relationship right now and he doesn't understand why. what do i tell him and how can i get him to understand?

you need to leave him alone. When you tell him you still love him and you talk to him everyday, he will still think there's a chance between you two. You give him hope. You need to really cut down on the amount calls with him or any contact so he doesn't have to think about you as much. Also it's kind of wrong to keep him dangling there so when you are done with living college life, you want him to still be there in the end for you. That's cruel if that's your intentions. Leave him alone so he can go on with life without you. That will make him understand.

I would say enjoy you life and have fun, this will be the test to see if you to are meant for each other, cause after all the party's and people you meet and go out with, if you still only feel for him and he feels the same way then it was meant to be. But you have to cut contact out for a while, a long while.... Good luck

stop talking to him everyday, you're leading him on.
If you don't want a relationship and you're ok with the break up, then break up.
Talking everyday is going to kill him.
Have no contact for six months and see what happens. If you still love him then consider getting back together. But neither of you will be able to move on if you talk every day, or even every other day
