god wanting blood sacrifices? why wouldnt god accept vegatable sacrafices or something? i mean why is he so hungry for blood?

wouldnt it make more sense for a loving caring god to NOT want bloodshed?

At Holy Communion God has to turn wine into blood, so he needs to have a source of blood so that he can put it into the little cups they drink out of.

Shouldn't we start distinguish what people of 4 thousands years ago imagine about God, from what god really is? I thought Jesus was one of the first person distinguish it.
