I speak up.
If you don't come here legally, you are damaging this country that you say you want a better life in. What life will you have if you sink the whole country with your illegal actions?

Why should immigrants learn English? English isn't the true language of this nation. Do you know the language of the people who were here when your ancestors came? Do you know any Native languages? Just because colonizers Tortured, Raped, and Killed Native people don't make the fact less true that they were here first. Thus, your reasoning is flawed. If you say that they must learn English because it is the official language. Think of how it became that way. What you are really saying then is that if illegal immigrants come with war to American and kill enough people then they don't have to speak English but otherwise they should..
NO immigrant has to pledge allegiance to only one country. Just because you live in America does not mean you have to give up pride for your country of origin. That is completely ridiculous. What is your reasoning for this?
And you are full of stereotypes: gang affiliations... You know the largest gang in America right? It's the White Supremecy groups like the KKK. You just see more people of color in gangs on the media.. Doesn't make it true.
You are right about one thing. This is a nation of immigrants. What makes one type of immigrant better than another? Why should you not apply the rules you laid out to yourself?
It is too hypocritical.
Why not support each other? Look at the real statistics for illegal immigration. There is No real harm being done from it. Educate yourself about this (you are the one that said you support education after all)
And trust me just because one or two people claim to be hispanic and support more immigration laws do Not mean they speak for the majority of people. All it means is that they are already assimilated and oppressed.
And Lakota: You need to stop speaking for all Native people. You cannot possible represent all Natives and you are spreading cultural ignorance by saying that you do. I am a Native woman and I support all immigrants, and I know MANY Natives that do.

If your really a U.S. citizen and want to help others then you should not be standing up for illegals. They break the law, you as a U.S. citizen should be for the law or have sworn to up hold the law if you became a citizen.
You should be for the law and standing to help others that want to come legally, not illegal.
Yes we are a country of immigrants, yet over time we came to all speak English, and learn it from our school, not come in and demand that our schools teach other languages, or change the language spoke in the U.S.. All this shows is your an illegal trying to change things to your liking. Or if your a citizen backing illegals, then you need to have your citizenship stripped and sent to the country your supporting illegals from.

VENI, VIDI, bye bye
My green card is worth peanuts. I was Germany´s most talented student in renewable energies, I came to the US and realized:
-The "so called" free market country has a heavily state controlled energy sector and a lot of utilities and consulting is operated by the state.
- I need US citizenship to work for EPA or DOE...
Nevertheless, by pledging to the US I could have had a job at a major US institution: US Army... (why can´t I just pledge to the country to do my job the best and honestly for the two first ones ???)
So I decided:
- I ´m too young to die in Iraq and since I don´t vote for or against it would be stupid to be involved with
- the US is definitely not a country for me
- my wife has to move to Europe if she wants to stay with me. Let´s sail to the UK, Netherlands or Germany

I'm honored to have worked with a few members of YDSFM, as well as a slew of Hispanics both naturalized and native born to the US, both on and off the borders. These are some VERY patriotic AMERICANS.

"FYI, I'm fully in favor of LEGAL immigration, provided "
It is nothing but racism and I can proof it. Illegals need money to pay for the fees. Start an Illegal donation fund to help pay for the fees. I am not rich but I will gladly donate as much as I can.
Good Americans donated millions & millions for hurricane victims to the useless organization call the Red Cross . Maybe you can ask the Red Cross for donations.
game over01, what is wrong with you, there is no rational intelligent conversation on this site. This place is getting ridiculous. The nerve of some people.
"My dad immigrated legally to the US and it cost him a lot of blood, sweat and tears, and now these illegals want an easy break? No way. "
What would happen to you if they do get a break? Not only that what is it to you ? The world does not revolve around you.Why not just join the other white Americans. They do not really need an excuse to hate.
Expat, you are one of those Pendejo boys from Mexico.

I personally have spoken out against illegals for many years now. My problem with illegal aliens is based on the fact that I live on the border. It is a personal expense and safety issue for me.
American Indian tribes are split on the issue, and tribes that are not Lakota do not speak for me. No one speaks for me, especially illegal aliens.
The illegal alien problem is not an issue on reservations. I doubt it if American Indian tribes will organize to support or protest against illegal aliens. There are tribes who have established ties with Mexico, and will support illegal aliens.
In the article from a pro-illegal site that gameover references above, American Indians have gone on record to support immigrants, not illegal aliens. American Indians know the difference between the two.

I wish they would! It would help solve a lot of problems. Of course the two border patrol agents were of hispanic decent also and didn't help their cause much. Seems you have to be an illegal alien to be heard! Sad day in America, for sure.

yes there is a lot of natives Americans involved in the immigration debate if that is what u are asking ..
here is what they have to say :
Between Aug. 29 and Oct. 1, Native Americans from the northern and southern borders met at the first Border Summit of the Americas.
They expressed solidarity with immigrants, took a stance against the projected wall between the United States and Mexico and demanded a halt to the militarization of the border and for the United States to respect the sovereignty of Native American nations.
Many people don't know that there are over 20 tribes that live in the border area who are suffering the consequences of the immigration crackdown.
Federal agents violate tribal land without any regard to the rule of law set by treaties. When on tribal lands, agents invade homes at gunpoint, and demand papers.
i hope u CARE about what they WANT since YOUR question suggest that u do ...however IF U DO NOT CARE please choose a best answer which agrees with your point of view .
i found some more info about what is going on at the indian nations :
Jose Matus, Yaqui ceremonial leader and director of the human rights group Indigenous Alliance Without Borders, based in Tucson, pointed out that indigenous people who live along the border - from California to Texas - and others migrating for work from Central and South America are victims of the growing racism by members of the Minutemen and Border Guardians.
Matus compared the Border Guardians to the Ku Klux Klan. ''Border Guardians are like the Ku Klux Klan, only not as ambitious,'' Matus told ICT.
