The real cause is the staph bacteria trying to fight off the dirt and oil that clogs the pores.

There is a lot of argument about that. But I am convinced it has to do with the pH balance of the body, which is probably upset by hormonal changes. The reason I have come to believe this is that 3 of my children have gotten rid of their acne by using a product called Chlorella. What Chlorella does is pH balances the body. It is actually fresh water algae. You can buy it in a health food store, but the kind I use comes from a company called AMS (www.amsonline.com) I like the kind I buy better because the pills are very tiny, and it is nothing but dehydrated Chlorella. The ones I bought at the health food store were huge, and had other things added to them. My kids would take 6 pills a day until the acne was gone (about a month), then just take them if they had a flare up. I have several friends whose teens have used them too. Chlorella is also great for a lot of other things.

Acne can come from many causes, may it be clogged pores, hormones or stress. I will give you a very helpful link which i am sure will help you with learning about acne.
If you are dealing with acne, please get some Oxy pads, and some cream from a local pharmacy. Try that for 2-3 weeks, and make sure to have healthy eating habits. If that does not clear your acne, you should see your pediatrician (your doctor) and ask him to put you on some medication. If that medication does not work, he can refer you to a dermatologist for further examination. I have, and still am battling severe acne (much milder now) and have had great sucess with a drug called accutane. I will give you a link about the side affects of accutane, and you can weigh out the side affects and the benefits of it and make a choice. Please note, that accutane CAN cause suicidal thoughts.
