Its a con. Enough correct information to make it appear real but of course, you can only win if you buy a ticket. Thunderball is a weekly lottery draw in the UK but noone would be offering you a ticket that had already won! Take care

Hello USA, I was over there 15 years ago and I left my sunglasses at the Grand Canyon, can I have them back please? Yes there is a UK thunderball lottery draw and the jackpot is 250k, however, these emails are extremely common over here, and they will ask you for either your bank account details, or a fee to 'process' your claim.
You can't win if you did not buy a ticket, and if you DID buy a ticket, they are sold with no record of who bought which ticket whatsoever, so how could they suddenly pull your email from somewhere?
More than likely they have got your address from a totally random source, either stolen email listings or bought them from somewhere, but they do not actually know whethere your email is 'live' ie-in use, unless you reply to it, then they will tranfer you to an 'active' list, and you will get hammered with dodgy emails, and if you EVER just once give them what they ask for, not only will they rinse you for as much as they can, you then get upgraded to the 'stupid' list, and you will get bombarded with the bloody things, and they may just start calling and visiting you with dodgy scams too! Be VERY wary with THIS kind of crap.

Leave it alone. Just ignore it completely. They will probably try a few times to get you accept the so called "Jackpot" but the only winner will be the scammers. If you haven't bought a lottery ticket of any kind anywhere in the world it is impossible to win!!! No entry, no win. That goes for any kind of competition or lottery. I hope this helps.

The people who run a lottery can not possibly know who has or has not won any money. They only know when YOU notify them, they don`t know who has bought a ticket, or what numbers are on it. It is a scam

This is a variation of the Nigerian "419 scam". Usually what happens is that once you contact them to claim your "prize" they inform you of the taxes that need to be paid in advance. They tell you that local law prohibits them from taking the taxes directly from the prize pool. Once you pay the initial fee, another unforseen fee will appear until they have bled you dry. It is a complete scam.
