My husband composed all the music for our wedding for a Brass Quintet. That was pretty impressive, and all the guests loved it. I know most people do NOT use Here Comes the Bride anymore. Alot of churches won't allow it anymore because of the song's association with the Holocaust.
Here are some of the pieces I have heard at weddings for the bridal processional:
Vivaldi's Four Seasons "Largo" from Winter
“Arioso” - by JS Bach
The Pachelbel Canon in D Major
Romance by Hummel
"Claire De Lune” by Claude Debussy
Erev Shel Shoshanim By J. Hadar (Jewish ceremonial-traditional)
Largo from Sonata in A Major Opus 4 #3 by Corelli

Canon in D by Pachibel, Watch father of the Bride by Steve Martin.
We used it as background music when the signing of the register took place. Worked really well.

My wife walked up the aisle to The Prince of Denmark's March (also known as "Trumpet Voluntary") Sounds good on the pipe organ, but if you know a trumpet player who can play the lead it's GREAT!!! We got so many comments on how nice that was. Probably had something to do with the fact that our trumpet player is the jazz band director at Henry Ford Community College, but hey...

I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the piece of music, but the one I went down the aisle to was the theme from Masterpiece Theatre....lots of trumpets, lots of fanfare...a very appropriate song for the dramatic entrance of the bride into the chapel.

My daughter was married last year with "All I ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera. My wife and I renewed our vows for our 25 anniversary a few (too many) years back with "Day by Day" from the musical "Godspell". (That is because we meet while performing in a production of it).
So you can use anything you want - expect maybe polka....

I've seen people do Pachelbel's Canon and I've also seen people do instrumental versions of their favorite songs (like "Open Arms" by Journey) or instrumental versions of songs that have special meaning to you and your fiance.

here comes the bride is very traditional, and i dont think its overdone.
just talk to your church or wherever your getting married. im sure they will be able to suggest something to you.
keep in mind though, that if you pick something too off the wall people will not know whats being played.
good luck and congrats!
