Oh my gosh, people are so incredibly RUDE. This is the whole reason that Yahoo answers sucks so much. You can't get the answer to the question you want, instead you get preached to about stupid crap that can't be changed now anyways!!!
The answer is obviously, no. I think it's because the human preg test looks for a human pregnancy hormone not the canine one.

You've been an irresponsible owner letting your ***** escape knowing she was in season. Why haven't you ever spayed her?if you cant afford to take her to the vets then you shouldn't own a pet, what if something series had happened to her when she escaped like getting knocked down?what would you have done then? You cant tell if shes pregnent or not untill the 4th week of pregnency but thats usually by a vet,you would start noticing she was pregnent around the 6th week mark.Unfortunatly if she is pregnent, you are going to struggle as having pups is time consuming and expensive.I suggest you do make a trip to the vets regardless of how much money you have,as they can give advice and offer a termination.Good luck.

Okay, first off -- check with your local animal shelter. Ask about free or low-cost spaying services. Truly, if your dog is not pregnant, you don't want to go through this again, or contribute to the millions of unwanted dogs who are killed every year, right? Most shelters have free "spay days" where you can get your dog spayed at no cost to you. That's first.
Next it's a trip to the library for books on dog care. Most have sections on dog breeding and care for the expectant mother. How to tell without seeing a vet? Don't know of any signs that show until she's pretty far along (like weight gain). The books will also tell you the "signs" of pregnancy.
The supermarket pregnancy tests are designed for humans, so no, they aren't reliable for dogs.
I hope your dog isn't pregnant for both your sakes, and for that of the puppies. If she's not, time to call the shelter about the next Spay Day. They can also explain why it's really a good idea for your dog (sharply reduces her chance of breast cancer, keeps the sniffing males from going nuts trying to get to her, keeps her safer), and for you.

Why did you purchase a dogs in case you do not have money to preserve it? in case you won't have the ability to have the money for a vet bill for an examination, how do you assume to preserve the dogs and the doggies if she is pregnant, besides as each and every of the vet costs she is going to need for the time of her existence? Take her to the vet, get her appeared at, and if she is pregnant schedule an emergency spay/abort to terminate the being pregnant. and then provide her back to the guy you acquire her from or rehome her your self so she will stay with somebody who could have the money for her.

In a dog's first pregnancy stage, for example, when she is in the first two weeks of since copulation, the dog's nipples start to enlarge. When you notice this phenomenon your dog should see a veterinarian, to determine if there is a pregnancy and if so what pregnancy stage she is in.
The veterinarian will be able to tell if puppies have been conceived just by feeling the dog's stomach. Just as with human pregnancy tests, the dog's pregnancy or lack of it can be verified through a blood test. Of course, the pregnancy stage for a canine is shorter than that of humans because dogs give birth only sixty three to sixty five days after conception.

No a human test WILL NOT work on your dog. Go to your vet and he/she will probably make arrangements for you pay your bill in instalments this time. They will also advise you about the PDSA, or pet insurance. Get something worked out for the future for your dog and the pups. I have old english sheepdogs, we have have planned litters and I can tell you its hard work and expensive, but things must be done for their welfare. By the time the pups are 8 weeks old and ready to leave you will be exhausted as you can't expect mum to do it all. One she has recovered then it would be best to have her spayed, and leave the breeding to people who know what they are doing.

Here is the deal:
1) You should not own any animal if you can not afford vet bills. That comes along with owning any animal. Now, there are options such as pet clinics etc in your area. I suggest calling a vet in your area explaining the situation because your animal if "expecting" will need treated like a human and need care.
2)Home pregnancy kits are for humans not dogs. We do not share the same HCG level found in pregnant women vs dogs..good try though.
3)I understand that dogs sometimes run off, but it you can not afford your dog to get pregant, then you need to either get her fixed (again, the clinics or vet, some except payments) or don't allow her to run around.
Owning a dog breed or no breed, you have responsibility as an owner, and medical attention is one of those. I know some states that shots need to be up to date etc.. or you loose your dog...
Think about this...

No a human test kit wil not work on an animal. If money is a problem though you might want to at least go and get her spayed and that will be the end of it.. Having a litter is lot more money to spend during her pregnancy and for her well being during it. Also getting her spayed will prevent future breeding which you cant afford.

Try calling a vet an explaining the situation. I don't think human home pregnancy tests would work on a dog. You can also try going to a shelter, because they often have dogs that come in pregnant and they might be able to help. You should find out quickly, because if she is pregnant, you will have to feed her more food so that her puppies grow well. Good luck!!!

Well, the home pregnancy test they sell for humans won't work.
There are a few simple ways to tell. Pregnant dogs are thirsty and hungry more often. They also have to go out to potty a lot
more often. A pregnant dog's nipples will start enlarging and in a few weeks her stomach will be noticably larger.
Some vets will abort a pregnancy, some won't. It's pretty expensive to have done. I'd suggest letting her have the pups.
Keep the babies for 8 weeks and list them in the local paper
for sale for $25.00 or $50.00 each. Use the money you get
from selling them to pay the vet to have your dog spayed.
