I'd get them fixed ASAP --- I'd say around 4 to 6 months of age they would go into heat - call a vet and ask -- phone calls are free - plus lookinto a vet thats spays/ newteres cats cheaply - ther are enoughhomeless animals out there and you don't want your cats contributing to that

You have done a good job raising them so far especially if you got them while they were still small enough to need to be with their mama. If they were born in Sept or Oct they are old enough that they may be going into heat now or soon. Preheat or early heat signs are usually twisting around furniture, being more affectionate or more quarrelsome (especially likely when there are 2 cats in heat) and more "talking". Full heat symptoms include all this plus loud and persistant meyoweling and crying as if desperate, trying to escape through every door or window, more rolling and twisting about, possibly more purring, possibly being off food but not water tho this does not happen usually, assuming a breeding position (hind end up front end down and backing up at things).

If you do not want 2 batches of kittens at once please try to get them spayed asap. There are low cost spay and neuter programs in many areas. A humane society or vet can tell you about them. It used to be necessary to let a cat get old enough to come into heat heat before spaying but now many shelters spay and neuter kittens before adopting them out and it is said to be safer and less painful for them so don't let anyone tell you thay have to go through one heat cycle before they can be spayed.

I am 52 years old and have had cats and kittens all my life so I can tell you exactly what the signs are. First, let me tell you that kittens should eat kitten food until they are one year old, otherwise their digestive systems could get messed up. As far as them going into heat...they meow ALOT and are very loud when they do so! It will drive you crazy! They lay low to the floor and stick their butts in the air! They also become VERY friendly and rub up against you. If your kitties are doing these things, they are definately in heat!

Cats go into heat when they are big kittens -- I imagine they'd be eating solid food long before then. I would get your cat fixed before 6 months, many places do it far sooner nowadays. Petco and the Human Society often offer a reduced rate. Beth

I would take them to the vet. A cat goes into heat around 6 months to a year old. Take them to make sure they are going into heat and if they are make an appointment for them to be fixed.

Well, for a female, here's one way to find out if it's in heat (they don't all "yowl") Try light scratching at the root of the tail. If she crouches down, starts wiggling her butt and holds her tail aside...she is in heat. Some will also meow and purr when you do this.

You need to get the kittens to a vet. Animals need medical care just like humans do. If you cant afford to do this, contact a cat rescue so they can take care of them properly. They need shots and they need to be spayed.

in spite of ypu do, do not permit her get pregnant. She is purely too youthful, and the kittens could be very small or not healthful. Get her spayed quickly and he or she would be waiting to grow to be plenty greater affectionate. My Tabitha replaced into carried out at six months. She replaced into caught, purely in time, entering 1st season.

I know female cats start to yowl and roll around all the time. Male cats usually start to spray to mark their territory. You want to get them neutered/spayed before this happens, because it's a pain to deal with yowling and peeing cats.
