I had not seen my father in 18 years and i had gone on a hunt to find him - just to know he was still alive. I had paid for services at www.ussearch.com and some of the other "tracking" sites and found them to not be of much help.
usseach.com helped more with their free service. you can narrow down searches if you know his age, or last whereabouts...
if you can do just that, maybe what worked for me would work for you (by the way, i DID find mine).
When you have a few listings and cities that "might" make sense, take that information and Google it. Literally, type in the name and city and you might be surprised at what pops up - WITH phone nmbers.
Mine came up with three numbers....I called all three and my father was the last one I tried.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

lots of luck with that! Men don't usually want to be found. Perhaps if you get famous or have a famous child, they'll come out of the wood work. (look at the anna nicole story going on!) Then, you can weed them out 'til you find the right one.
Otherwise, you can hire a private eye.

You could try the Social Security Service. They may be able to help you. If you know his last place
of residence you could try the post office to see if
he left a forwarding.
