It's not a matter of being "good enough".

To me, $7500 seems far too much to pay for jewelry, no matter how much free money I had to spend on it.

Is this an engagement ring? If so, I've heard of people spending that much on an engagement ring. You can find some really nice rings at Zales for under $2000, though. It's not about how much you spend, it's about the love behind it.

If this is just a present, then $7500 is far too much to spend. How long have you been dating? If you haven't been dating too long, stay under $200. If you've been dating awhile, $500-1000 sounds like a good budget. It's just a matter of having good sense; you don't want to spend a ton of money on a relationship that has only been going on for a few weeks.

Hope this helps...

Its not the price of the ring. Few things you should consider before buying a ring

1. $7500 is a good price but make sure you get it from a reputable source and a good jeweler (Check Better Business Bureau to see if the Jeweler has many outstanding complaints against them)

2. Cut of the diamond (this is what makes it sparkle) - the better the cut the more the diamond sparkles.
3. Clarity - VS2 - VVS2 should be in that range. But do not value Clarity over cut. A Ideal cut VS2 diamond will sparkle better than a VVS2 diamond that is not ideally cut.
4. Color - Do not go below H. If you go below H the diamond will have a yellow tint.
5. Make sure your diamond has proper certification (this goes back to the argument of buying for a reputable source). GIA or AGS certs are the best. The certs will also help you get proper insurance for the diamond.

On a more personal note - If she is the one and you are sure of it go for it, GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

Its not the price that's important. Its how you feel about her. Does the ring itself relay the message you are trying to get across ? If its an engagement ring, it should be something that she will enjoy wearing for the rest of her life. Does the ring match her personality ? Does it match her other jewelry ? Some women wear only yellow gold, some only white gold. Does she wear large stones or dainty ones ? I would think that a $7500 ring would be very impressive. Is she materialistic ? Or would she prefer something less extravagant ? Jewelry is a very personal item...but all women love it, and I'm sure that whatever you choose will be perfect. Best wishes.

Actually a 21 year old would be a woman not a girl and it depends on how long you have been with her and what kind of ring we are talking about - ie engagement ring or just a regular ring. Can you afford a ring that much? If so and you have been together long enough it should be MORE than good enough for her

What are you a fool? You should spend nothing on a ring. Is she giving you a dowry?

Diamond rings are a scam started by the diamond companies. Men in most counties don't give diamond rings and even in the USA it wasn't normal until after WWII.

The only thing that will happen is she will be wearing that ring while in bed with another guy. Think about that one.

Dude, it isn't the price of the ring, BUT THE RING ITSELF. Stop attaching price tags to love.

My wife's engagement ring cost us about 10% of what you spent. We had a lot of bills to pay and could have gone into debt, but WE chose not to. The ring is to symbolize your love for her, not how much you think she's worth. There will be a time, though, that I get my wife the ring I THINK she deserves, but it won't be an engagement ring, it will be a "thank you for sharing my life" ring and I'll probably have to squeeze the lump of coal to diamond with my bare hands because it'll be too big to cut.

Yes but like the others said if its an engagement right that's a great price I would still think that's too much maybe $3000 at the most my wedding ring is only worth $1500 and I'm pretty happy with it! =)

Damn...that is more than enough...Sounds more like an engagement ring or wedding ring price to me...If you have that much money to spend on a ring though, then go for...she will be stoked!

Unless she is already your spouse there is no way in hell I'd spend that much money on a boyfriend/girlfriend.....If your talking about an engagement ring, you can get a real nice one for $1000.00-$2000.00 USD

Buy her a car, or nice furniture with the
$5000.00 you save!
