I want to rent out a place just to get ready for my wedding b/c the bridal room at the church is also a kids' playroom and I'm not really liking that. The houses of the people we know nearby will be filled with relatives so I can't go there. Any suggestions on what I can do if I can't find a nearby hotel that will let me rent a room for just that morning?

The reason I don't like the kids' room is b/c we'll be taking pictures there and having a bunch of toys and stuff in the background isn't something I'm excited about. Thanks to everyone for your answers.

No, sorry, they won't rent just for the morning, you gotta rent it for the whole day/night just like everyone else. You and the bridal party can stay their the night before, and get ready the next day. Ask for a late check out if you need one. Call around the hotels in your area, they might even upgrade you to a suite for no extra charge if they know the reason. Especially if they are under the impression that you are going to have your "batchlorette party" at their bar/restaurant that night. That's what most of my friends did.

The best thing is to just ring up local hotels and ask them. However i don't think they will rent the room for you just for a couple of hours. they might charge you a full night.

However ring around because you never know. Better yet, go to these places in person and show that you are not a hooker or anything and generally want the room for a good purpose.

Congratulations by the way and good luck

Having worked in the hotel industry for almost 10 years, I can tell you that it depends on the individual hotel's policies. Since all are individually owned and operated, you have to call and ask the hotel directly if they have what is called a 'day rate'. Normally, that is from after 8am in the morning until 4pm in the afternoon. Some hotels dont like to do this, but if they wont give you a day rate, you can always explain your situation to the manager and see if they can help you out that way. Good luck.

The only places you can rent for the morning are places where you can rent hourly...and you don't want to prepare for your wedding day in one of those places.

You'll have to rent a room for the night before (Friday night into Saturday morning, if your wedding is Saturday, for example). Otherwise, what difference does it make if the room is a kid's playroom? You're just changing your clothes there.

Not sure about that, but it's a great idea. I checked into it in my area and was told no possible by several hotels. What about the hotel you will spend your first night? you can easily get an early check in to prepare for the wedding and then come back to after the festivities are over.

i will be renting a room (just for me and the bridesmaids) the night before the wedding. our wedding will be on october 20th, so i'll probably stay there on the 19th and just use that room for my preparation before the wedding day. yes, they did allow me to rent that room for me and for my bridesmaids. why dont you check the hotel so you can make reservations as soon as possible? just rent the room for the whole day, it wont make any big difference if you rent it just for few hours, they'll let you pay for the whole amount so why not rent it for the whole day? or check in the night before the wedding, spend the rest of the night there and the next morning, you can still use it for preparing for your wedding. goodluck!

You can rent a hotel room for as long as you like. It will still cost the full price, but they don't care how long you stay or leave as long as you leave by the normal check out time for the length you have purchased.
Congradulations on your wedding. This sounds like a great idea.

Why not rent the room for the day? At the most the hotel will charge you two days for the room! If they are not busy and some of the guest are staying at the hotel they might even let you use one for free???? Ask the manager!

It all depends. If the hotel is sold out for the evening probably not. That is why it is crucial to reserve in advanced. At my hotel, we do offer day rates but again it depends on the situation. Call!
