My uncle is dying. He has cancer and he has exausted every means of help for medical expenses. The government has even taken his tax check from him because of medical expenses. His house is in foreclosure because he was going to catch up with his tax check. He even received a letter from the senator, saying that there is no more help for him in the system. After all the chemo, it killed the cancer off. Well now he has a cancer on his liver and he would need more chemo to kill that and prolong his life. Does anyone know of any NON-Government agency that would help even if it was just to pay for his house so he dont lose it? Does anyone know of anywhere I could direct him to go?

He should contact the local American Cancer Society as they can point out his options. There are also some excellent suggestions at their online site. Too, he could talk with the social worker at the hospital or clinic where he receives treatment as they can also help guide him.

Medical Insurance and Financial Assistance for the Cancer Patient

And he can contact the online Cancer Care. They have social workers who can offer advice and guide him.

Good luck.

I am so sorry for you and him...you work hard all your life and when you need help, there is nothing anyone can give you. Do you have a county hospital nearby that will take care of your uncle without him having to pay for it? And let me say this as gently as possible; liver cancer is almost always fatal....and the time is very short for him if he does have it. If someone diagnosed me as having this, I would get my affairs in order and have the best time I could living every day to it's fullest!
In the meantime, I would certainly appeal to the mortgage company who wants to foreclose on this man's house. It's called, "fighting city hall". My motto in life is the worse thing they can say is, no!...and if you don't ask, you won't know if you could have been successful...Good luck my friend.

What about the radio and TV stations in your area? Can't they make announcements for people to send in donations for this man? In my town they ask and receive donation that can be mailed or delivered to a bank account for such a cause. An account is opened for the person. It can be very prosperous depending on the promotions it gets. Flyer's can be put around town, in store windows on poles. Anyway, that people go. Ask, if the flyer can be put up. Most people don't mind.
Good luck to your uncle and God Bless him and your family.

Now about organizing a benefit for him? Ask your church or some organization if they would donate the use of their hall for the benefit and then start soliciting businesses for donations for gifts etc. Do you know a band or a DJ that would donate his services for a worthy cause?
