I have a Picasso, but I want a Freelander. I can sell my Picasso for more than I'd pay for a Freelander of the same year, so something tells me that maybe a Picasso is a better care afterall, and maybe I shouldn't be so hasty to sell it?

The Freelander is rubbish.

Forget the advertisments with expeditions to the jungle or whatever.

Freelanders are poorly built, unreliable, poor on fuel, expensive on maintenance and repairs, cost too much to service and the road tax is a lot (too much emissions).

If the Picasso is running fine, keep it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is broke, get a Japanese machine.

Freelander is a poorly build posers vehicle.

Picasso's are pretty decent vehicles - and if it has a diesel engine you've got one of the best makes of diesel engines in the world.

Of course, you will get badge snobs and morons who don't like the French trying to tell you otherwise.

Try driving it down the centre of the road. Most roads are "crowned" - ie. the centre is higher than the sides, so that water runs off to the sides. All cars will follow this slightly, and need a little correction every now and again. If you can find a clear stretch of road where you can safely drive along the crown and the car still veers left, you have a problem (possibly tracking, possibly a seized brake or worn wheel bearing).

Depends what Picasso and what Freelander, if it is TD4 then please get it, the Freelander btw is not as big as you may think. It is also a Land Rover - also Engine by BMW (TD4)

your instincts are spot one, the Freelander is of very poor build quality, if you want to change to this type of vehicle have a look at the Honda or the Nissan x trial.

Do you want to do some serious off-road driving?. If not stick with a road car, the people I know who have 4WD cars HATE them. They thought it was a good idea when they bought it but found living with it an expensive & uncomfortable experience. One exeption, he is a gamekeeper.
