Due to mistaking identity I was arrested and charged with Robbery. It didn't even make it to the grand jury, the DA motioned to throw it out and they did. Since than I been enlisted in the United States Army. I am now a Staff SGT. and have been deployed to Iraq twice, a third time next month. Once my contract is up, I was looking into becoming a Police . Would the arrest hinder my chances?

Everyone who is thanking me for my service, thank you, I appreciate it, this is why I love serving my country.
Is anybody who has answered the question Police Officers? If anyone has been through a similar issue or knows of one, please tell the story it would be appreciated. I really think I'm perfect for Police work, and maybe specialize in Emergency Service, like SWAT or something similar. I am Airborne and Air Assault qualified, have my Expert Infantry Badge. LOL excuse me for tooting my own horn but I am an excellent soldier and feel I would make an excellent Officer.

Nope!
If you served in the military, then you are cleared to work for any police agency in the country.
If a criminal records check doesn't turn it up, I wouldn't mention it either. Like you said, mistaken identity.
Case forgotten.

Will the arrest hinder your chances? Not at all. First off, you never even went to trial, much less were you convicted. Innocent people are arrested every day - arrest records do not hinder you at all without conviction. But above that, I believe your military record will more than secure an interviewer's faith in you.

lol. Alright. Listen. Mistaken Identity will not even reach your record. You weren't "cleared." You were falsly arrested. Which means there is no paperwork for the arrest.

Your arrest isnt on record. You are clear. No worries.

btw
Thanks on being a hero for this country of ours.

If the case was dismissed then the arrest has no standing. If you have no other record then good luck.

You were falsely arrested, doesn't count against you at all.

You be safe over there, and thank you.

You should be fine, if you were cleared. If they ask, tell them about it and the circumstances, and you should be OK.
