Bob builder of the Wall, I agree about the wall, but let's face it, we don't have enough resources to have raids 10 times a day. Besides, did you really read the story? This was a military employer who was hiring illegals!

WendyG, good answer, but these were working illegals. If they are working, they are also contributing to Medicaid, and paying taxes in withholding, same as any other worker. Why is it it is easier in the U.S. to get fake id than to get a LEGAL workers visa, is another question on my mind.

hisgirl2455, what if this is a corporation, owned by more than one person? Typically military contracts are filled by corporations. Also, who did the hiring? Did the one who did the hiring knowingly hire illegals, or were the illegals using forged id's? What could we do to make forged id's more obvious so that employers are not fooled?

Children are also stranded when their parents who are bank robbers, drunk drivers, rubber check bouncers, counterfeiters etc are arrested. It is a good reason not to break the law, but is not a good reason to fail to enforce it.
abbysinia - the employers were arrested and we await their trial. ICE is quoting $3000 per illegal plus, plus, plus. Apparently they well knew their employees were illegal, and even counseled one undercover ICE 'illegal employee' on where to get fake ID.
I assure you we care. That wasn't the question we are responding to, is all.

I hope the rest of the Illegals who populate our Country take heed in this. If they don't want their children to end up in foster care they need to return back to their homeland IMMEDIATELY!
These illegals who were caught and detained are criminals who entered our Country illegally, it is their own fault that they put their children in that position.
Regarding the laws their employer broke, he will get his too, and the Govt. should be reprimanded for giving a contract to a man without investigating the fact his business was engaging in illegal activity.
So if you are here in the U.S. illegally and you don't want your children to suffer without you it is your time to leave, because when you get caught it will be too late to save yourselves and your children.
Maybe this will reverse the flow back across our borders, I sure hope it does!

It makes sense that it you are caught in crime acts at some point it will return to haunt you. I personally believe the people in this matter put themselves into this position. We have thousands of kids stranded every time a parent is arrest here.

Is there outrage when our own citizens children are left stranded by parents who break the law and are sent to jail? Are they let go simply because they're parents? NO......it's a shame but they are the ones breaking the law and if they really had all the "family values" etc. they claim to have.....they should never have put their children in this position. I say keep the raids going. Having children is no exemption from the consequences of crime. There's way too many of these children already living in an unsafe environment. If it were our children in many of these cases....they'd have already been taken by social services and the parents would be sitting in jail for abuse and neglect.

I think it is very sad that the children are having to pay for their father's sins ( so to speak) however the parents of those children put their children at risk by entering this country illegally.
American parents are put in jail daily for breaking the law.
What do you think happens to those children when Mommy is picked up for breaking the law?
The same thing that happened to the children of those illegals.
They are stranded at the sitters or at school.
Do illegal aliens have special privileges or do they have the same rights as the American criminal?
Criminals get arrested for breaking the law- that is what happpens. You don't get to schedule an arrest so that it is convenient for you even if you are an illegal alien.
That is how it is done in America. You break the law- you get arrested.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
What kind of parent jeopardizes their children's future by living life as a fugitive?
What kind of family values does that teach?
It's okay to break the law as long as you don't get caught.

You ever heard that phrase "That's what you get..." Well, these illegals are putting their children in this predicament. Oh well, the price you pay for entering our country illegally. I think that the owner of this company should lose all of his military contracts and be tried for treason against this country. Using people who have broken our federal laws to make military gear!! These children, if illegal, should be deported, if not, should be adopted and their birth parents should lose rights to them because they broke federal laws. I have absolutely no sympathy!!! Sick and tired of being invaded!!

I don't care, because they don't care. They know that there is a deportation risk. They knew by getting knocked up and giving birth in this country that there would be a chance that scenario like this would occur. The kids need to be deported with their mothers and sent back to Mexico. If you breed like a roach, then one day you and your offspring will be sprayed down by Raid. That's just how it goes.

It's their own fault. You break the law, you pay the piper.
What gets me is these illegals were working in a sweat shop that made clothes for the military. No wonder Bush is doing nothing to prevent illegal immigration.

It seems to me the kids would be playing and laughing and having a grand old time if Mom and Pop had obeyed the law.

I think their parents should be very ashamed for putting them in this situation. Children of law breaking citizens face the same thing, though, so why should illegals be given special consideration because of their numbers, race, large families, willingness to work for low wages (costing citizens jobs!) or any other excuse one could think of?
