Im having one removed on my sholder at the moment,Ive had about 15 sessions they started at £120 a session then after 8 sessions they put it down to £80 per session.Im payong £40 now for the rest of my treatment,my tattoo had greens and reds init which is the worst colour to get removed, black fades quicker. Iv been told that ive got a few more sessions then after the last session it takes about a year for the skin to go back to normal. oh and it hurts more than having a tattoo done!! I wont be getting anymore!!

Laser removal should work but it might take a few sessions. It is based on the color, depth, and size of the tattoo. Also how your skin reacted to the ink and how it will react to the removal process. Often there are faint scarring that can still be seen after the treatments. That might be reduced in appearance by using ointments used to reduce the appearance of scars.

Well you know what they say? A Tattoo is for life unless you have it covered. My brother has tattoos on his hands that he got when he was too young to know better and his job prospects were not looking too good because of them. Anyway he went for laser treatment to have them removed, which was really expensive as he had it done privately and he came home with his hands swollen like balloons, bright red and for a big grown man to admit being in so much pain, I can only imagine how sore it was. ouch!

Go to see a plastic surgeon. I work for one who has a laser to remove tattoos but it is very expensive, can be painful and may require several visits. Also depends on what colours are in your tattoo as to whether it can be removed or not. It may be easier (and cheaper) to have it cut out with or without a skin graft if it is small. Please don't visit any beauty clinics to have it lasered off. The lasers thay have are cheap and often it is hair removal wavelength lasers which they try to use - pain and scarring is the result. Visit bupa.com for info on plastic surgeons near you.

Yes they do work and quite well. I had one removed on my arm and you cant even tell I ever had one. You have to make several trips to get it completely off. Also I know a girl who had one on both her wrist that are in the proccess of being removed and is looking good. My tattoo artist had two full sleeves and now nothing! Completely clean. It is painful, more so than getting the tattooo initially. Make sure you find someone who has specialized in the practice of tattoo removal for at least 5 years.

I just had my 4th treatment yesterday at laserae in newcastle. I have to go every 3mths and they told me i may need up to 10 treatments at £100 per session, but its working. Colour is the hardest to remove especially red. It does hurt a little. Goodluck.

It depends on the colour of ink. Because laser removal uses light to break down pigment, colours that absorb more light break down more easily. Black and blue for example are the darkest inks and easiest to get out. If there's yellow or orange... you'll have a much harder time.
