Yep. The D200 is a great camera and the Nikon 18-200mm is a great all-in-one lens, quite capable of wide angle shots (all the way to long tele shots... it has an incredible zoom range).
I use a D200 myself, but here are some in-depth reviews:

And here are a couple of reviews for the lens:

If (after using it) you find that you need even MORE zoom range, you can get additional lenses. For the wide end, Nikon has an ultra wide angle 12-24mm zoom. The 18-200mm will probably do just fine however.

The D200 is amazing. Actually, you get the same image quality with the D80 since it uses the same sensor and image processor. People buy the D200 for the superior body. You can take relatively wide angled shots with an 18-200. But I wouldn't recommend a lens with so much zoom because light fall off becomes a problem. You'd want to pair the D200 with slightly more expensive lenses. Like a dedicated super wideangle 12-24 mm and perhaps 70-300 mm lens.

I'll just chime in with praise for the D200 and 18-200 lens. I've written about this many times, so click on my icon and see what you find.
OMG has given you some links for the camera and lens, but here are a few more:
Okay, it's not the world's PERFECT lens, but it is not too shabby. Go here and read Rockwell's review:
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200.htm
Go here and look at the sample images. Click on them to view them full screen. If you click at least once in the white space, your cursor will turn into a magnifier when you scroll it back over the image. Click again over the image and it will zoom to 100% size so you can really examine the image.

"Optically, this lens is the best superzoom we’ve seen, though it’s not compatible with Nikon teleconverters, extension rings, or coupled macro bellows. It also costs about $300 more than third-party digital-only glass. But are extremely rugged construction, unusually well-controlled distortion, and four extra handholdable speeds worth the extra bucks? That, and more."

Here are some of my own photos taken with the 18-200 VR lens, showing the versatility of the lens. Mostly, since you asked about the D200 + 18-200, I'm taking the opportunity to show off a bit. These were all taken with the D200 and 18-200 VR lens.

The D200 is an amazing camera, this is coming from a Canon user. Although its not a full frame sensor it takes really crisp and great color pictures. I would argee with Dr and OMG since they both own it they can tell you better details about the camera than I can.
