I got some wierd sugar cane in a vacumme pack and it didn't taste like i remember why?

Was it not sa sweet as you remember. That's what I found. It also has to do with the freshness. When I was a kid, we went out to the field and cut it down, rather than get it vacuum packed from the store. There is a taste difference.
