If there is infection present, that may explain the swollen lymph nodes. If you have had antibiotics, and the lymph nodes are still swollen, you may have a more serious problem. OR, you may just need stronger antibiotics. Try to stay calm, because stress will harm you also. I started out very similar to what you are describing. Stay in close touch with your doctors until you get some answers. Any itching? night sweats?

You have a swollen lymph node because your body is fighting an infection. You need to see a doctor and treat the source, not the symptoms. I recommend drink lemon tea (hot lemonade) or hot cranberry juice and getting plenty of rest. No meat for a day or so, or sparing on all meat, definitely no red meat. At least until you are better.

I'm no doctor but i had glandular fever when i was 19 and it sounds similar. My tonsils swelled up to the size of mini golf balls and i couldn't eat much... i was extremely tired often sleeping from 4 in the afternoon til the next morning and had lots of headaches.. felt like i'd been hit by a tonne of bricks. My cousin has also had it and his glands in his groin area were affected and it took him a long time to get over. I had glandular fever diagnosed with a blood test. The only way to clear it was antibiotics and absolute bed rest for as long as it takes to feel better. So i didnt work or leave the house for about two weeks. My doctor also suggested because i couldn't get proper foods down past my tonsils to eat mashed potatoes, milk shakes, cooked apples to at least get some nutrients. dunno if this helps but keep at the doctors and hope you get a resolution soon

I would also advise for second opinion. Such weight loss is indeed abnormal, although the fact that you cannot eat much due to swollen throat could explain it. But it cannot go on like this for long you know. If your doctor is not talking about doing any more tests, or refer you to a specialist, go and see another one fast.

go back to the doctor, and if that doesn't help, go to another one. Usually swollen lymph nodes mean your body is fighting infection of some kind.

Do not fool around , see a Specialist ,if your not getting the answers you want from your DR. Second opinions dont hurt . That could turn into cancer ,possibly.
