The second person to answer mentioned the 300 prophecies. How is that proof? That's circular logic - We know the Bible is true because it prophesied the life of Jesus. We know Jesus is real because it said so in the Bible. Sorry, it doesn't work like that. If people accepted that the story of Jesus was true (as she so pointedly uses as her proof) then they wouldn't need further support for the Bible. Duh! Anyway, I am unfamiliar with any "proof" that exists that can definitively support the Bible's validity. Perhaps only time will tell.

NO!! There arent any "facts" in the bible. You have to take it all on faith. When you get the gutts up to actually consider trying to believe that book... try reading about Job and the number God did on him. All over a bet... a wager with Satan. Then flip to where it says Gambeling is a sin. You will find that book to be full of contradictions. Its a trap... a mind game played on man for thousands of years... organized religion is the oldest CULT that there is. Follow your heart and do what you know to be right and good. Salvation isnt found at a big building with 10% of your earnings while participating in the weekly fashion show and gossip session. A man is defined by his actions... not his words.

Depends on what you mean by "solid proof"....

When the historical events mentioned in the Bible are compared to non-Bible records by historians and others, the other records support the major events of the Bible. There are historical records that people like Pilate, Herod, Caesar, and others lived. A recent babylonian tablet was found which list the names of several kings, and the taxes that were paid to these kings by nine different Israelite kings. When compared to the Old Testament books of 1 and 2 Chronicles, the records agree. It shows that these nine kings most have existed. There are humdreds more such examples.

The ver first archelogist is ususally considered to have been Sir Ramsey Clark. In the late 1800s he set out to prove the Bible was false. He intended to show that the cities, buildings, etc of the Bible never existed. But he ended up finding every single one of the things he went looking for (and invented modern archeology in the process). He was eventual converted and became a Christian because he found proof after proof of the Bible.

Then there is the text itself. Here is a library of books written over a 1500+ year period, but several dozen different authors. Yet within the book are hundreds of prophecies given and fulfilled with in its pages. For example, look up Psalms 22. Here you will find a description of every major event of the crucifixion of Jesus. The words he spoke, the wounds in his hands and feet, the soliders gambling for his clothes, the spear in his side, the mocking word his enemies would speak against him and more.

We have copies of Psalms 22 that date back to hundreds of years before the time of Jesus. It is quoted in other books, inscripted on tombs and artifacts. Translated into other languages. All long before Jesus lived or died. How could they have know that? How could they have prophecied all those details if the Bible is false?

Finally, there is the affect that the book has had on lives. People have been transformed by the truths within the book. They have been healed, freed from addictions, delivered from death, and more by the words and power of the book. Lies do not free people. But the Bible does. I have seen it time and time again within my own life.

When you take the time to look at the evidence in history, in acheology, in the text itself, and in transformed life, there is some very convincing proof of the truth of the Bible.

There are certain facts such as geography that show that the Bible wasn't in a made up land. There is minute amounts of proof that a man named Yeshua lived about 2000 years ago.

There is no proof of God, nor that Jesus was the Son of God outside the Bible.

And by proof, I mean more than the disillusions of His followers, I mean solid evidence, like in a court of law type evidence.

I suppose solid proof of creation would apply. Einstein said that he doesn't believe that God would play dice with the universe, that it has an order by design, that there is an intelligent designer. The universe and all that's in is too complex, many scientists believe, for it to exist by chance. Therefore, it must have been created...if Einstein and other scientists are right. They must believe that's all this constitutes solid proof.

Yes the bible is true it was put together by catholic priests around 200 A.D. Scientist have tried to prove it incorrect for years and everytime it proves them incorrect. These accounts are given by Jesus's disciples while he was here on earth. This book contains the answer to any question you may have. I am christian and God is real and he loves you. This is his love story to us. You will get the response from several people that it isn't true but how would they know if they don't know God and haven't ever read the bible.

Dr. Paul Meier and others have done some great work matching up the archeological and historical record with the New Testament. I've given you one link below. (I happen to know of Meier because I saw a video series he'd done in a Sunday bible study.) Good luck to you.

"Solid Proof" -- no. But it does hold up to most acedemic standards in many areas. How much 'solid proof' is there of many ideas you hold to be true?

There is evidence, but you'll have to weigh that yourself. (If you think there is solid proof for the death of Julius Ceasar, carbon dating, plate techtonics, the story of Rasputin and Czar Nicholas, or a lot of other things considered true by most people, you'll find that they don't hold up to the "solid proof" standard either.)

"Evidence that Demands a Verdict" and/or "Evidence for Christianity" (Both by Josh McDowell) lists MULTIPLE sources, including secular works, that document the validity of the bible and it's literary works.

BTW....WHY isn't just the fact that years are measured as B.C. and A.D. enough for some people? Just curious, because personally, I think that says a LOT!
