Yes, cold sores are contagious. There are several factors that can lead to cold sores. The most serious of these are the herpes simplex virus. Which can be transferred from the host (you) to another person. The transfer can even occur when there are no outbreaks. Be careful and brush your teeth with peroxide it helps to get oxygen to the area. It also helps to stop the outbreak from occurring. Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Cold sores are very contagious and are caused by the herpes simplex virus.
You should not kiss if you have a cold sore or use your mouth during sex as you can infect your partner.
As soon as you feel the tell tail signs of a cold sore coming on, apply cold sore cream, and get stuck into lysine as these will help reduce to severity of the attack and over all healing time.

YES! very much so. I know of cases where a woman with a cold sore performed oral sex on her husband and now he has genital herpes. You can not only pass them from mouth to mouth, but to others genitals as well. not fun. Coldsores are usually caused from stress. Keep up your immune system, eat well and take a vitamin supplement.

yes they are contagious. they are a form of herpes, so if you kiss someone when you have an outbreak..chances are they will get it too. but my mom said [she used to be a nurse] that by the times everyone is older they will have been slightly exposed to the virus. i get coldsores and they suck. idk how you can prevent them, they just come. but once you think you have one just put medicine on it so it doesn't get worse and maybe ppl wont even know you have one at that time. the earlier you treat it, the earlier it'll go away.

But if you can feel it coming on , the swelling and tingling and you can make your way to a doctor quickly he can give you some pills for it i cant remember the name ,they are big and blue and they will stop it from breaking out alltogether.

Yes cold sores are contagious....you shouldn't kiss or much less touch anything with your lips when you have a cold sore. You get cold sores as a sign that your body is sick...ex: like some people break out with fevers....you break out with a cold sore...take vitamins, and put some abreva on it, dont be kissing anyone...thats just gross.

Yes, they are spreadable through the fluid that comes out of them...thing chicken pox, ok? To prevent getting them, dont touch them. If you are exposed to a person who has them, just stay clean and dont kiss them. Its rather simple.
