So do I. Try a Clarifying shampoo. Pantene do one, clear bottle with a black lid.

Rusk Clarifying Shampoo--works great. Also, for in between shininess--sprinkle a tiny bit of baby powder where it gets shiny and comb it through. Just a tiny bit! It is like when you put powder on your face to absorb the oil--works the same way on hair too, and as long as you don't overdo it, no one can tell it's there.

It is not necessarily your hormones. Some people just have an oilier face and scalp than others. I'm 38 and have the same problem--so I don't think it's teenage hormones.

Don't worry though. The benefits of oily skin manifest later in life. We don't get wrinkles or dry skin nearly as easily as everyone else and we stay looking a lot younger for a lot longer. I'm the oldest of my group of friends and am frequently guessed as being the youngest. Good luck.

I also agree with the other answers--don't use conditioner every day. You don't need it. The oil is your body's natural conditioner.

Use a gentle shampoo - one without sulphates or silicone derivatives if you can find one! Harsh shampoos that strip the oils away only irritate your scalp into producing more. It sounds crazy, but washing your hair too often has the same effect. Silicone derivatives (chemicals ending in -cone) and petrochemicals build up in your hair, too, which can make it lank and greasy.

You should look for a shampoo which doesn't contain these products, and slowly try to reduce the frequency with which you wash your hair.

Boots have a 'Naked Hair' range, which I haven't used, but is sulphate and petrochemical free.

I almost have that problem, and if its not greasy its dirty looking and flat. I would try using the original neutrogena cleansing shampoo. Its in a smaller clear bottle and its a golden liquid. If you use that one a week it removes a lot of the other products which could be adding to your problem. Check the products and styling agents you are using, sometimes switching to a different shampoo for your type of hair will help, if you get a moisturizing one, it could be adding to the oils. Get one specifcally for oily hair

I have very greasy hair too. I know how horrible it can be. Quit using conditioner in the shower. Some conditioners are very oily. For greasy hair that is no good. Instead use a leave in conditioner. The salon brands are always better than drugstore brands.

Bumble and Bumble or Batiste dry shampoo are supposed to be great. They work by absorbing all the excess oil and grease thus leaving your hair looking clean and as if it has been freshly washed. I havn't used them mysely but have read good reviews on both. Good Luck : )

Try a new shampoo and wash it twice when you are getting a shower, then don't wash it till the next day.

use a dry shampoo. not sure what its called but you can get it in any chemist/boots also another tip try putting talcum powder in your hair and brushing it through it takes the greasiness away, but make sure you brush it all out completely, your hair will look freshly washed

skip the conditioner all together and get something that will strip the hair oil, it's oposite to the color hair theroy, make sure there is sulfate in it which will stript hat out, but if you have colored hair it will strip the added color in or fade bleched hair, but long as that's not the concern then get a clean sulfate (ingredient) shampoo
