Question

I would like to know where I can find huge size paintings in a good price. we have this really large mirror on top of our firewall & would like to cover it with something nice. Also where I can find large size indoor plants to put in our living room. Please advice.. Thanks! :)

Really big and really cheap? Do what they do on Trading Spaces, make something yourself. Buy a blank canvas, paints in colors that accent your room and go nuts!!

How big is "huge"? ebay has a fantastic selection of art.. I buy waaaaaaaaaay to much there. I could completely cover 4 or 5 walls with it.. LOL.

The poster above me had a great idea.. make your own. Find something you like (you can even use ebay as a source) and then copy/reproduce it. As long as you're not seeking perfection you should be ok if you stick with something simple and abstract..... as that would be fairly easy to copy (think color blocking). If "huge" is REALLY huge I think the challenge would be to find a large enough 'canvas'. If you are talking door size you might be able to use an old door... or perhaps a piece of plywood. The only catch would be that I think you'd have to prepare the surface with a primer first.. then select the right type paints. If you would prefer more traditional you can probably get large size canvas at joann fabrics, then stretch/wrap it around a frame.

Try prints. They are less expensive than paintings and cover a good amount of space. I recently purchased a large, artificial plant at HomeGoods at a reasonable price. Good luck!

Kirkwoods has some nice ones. You can also go antique shopping and find some gems, but it might take longer that way. Indoor plants (silk) can be purchased at Walmarts, furniture stores, or a place like Marshalls. Good luck.
