I'm just answering to second (or third) the advice to take advantage of what your university offers you. Most graduate psychology departments will set you up with a grad student for a sliding scale (free or very low cost). These people are supervised by their professors, who are phD's. The grad students working as therapists are literally about to be finished with school...it's not like you'd be getting some guy or girl who's just started on a Masters.

I did that at my school when I was in college. The counselor I got was very talented and it was a great experience. Highly recommended. It may not work out, but it's certainly worth a try!

There are several ways you can get some help. One, you can reach out and make friends which some people find hard to do, two, you can call suicide prevention, three, go to your college counsellor and tell them what is going on with you. They are not only college class counsellors, they are also there to help you when you are troubled, four, go to the Psychology department's secretary and ask her if there is a psychologist that is willing to take on counselling a depressed student, five, you can write Dr. Phil (the tv psychologist) and hope he takes on your case, or six, the most impractical one in someone's shoes such as yours, you can go on the outside and pay for counselling.

If I could, I would forward your question to Dr. Phil. But, there is no phone number provided, official email address he can get a hold of you by or even address. So this would be totally pointless for me to even try.

I recommend that you go out and take a long stiff brisk walk for about 20 minutes per day to help stimulate the necessary hormones needed to pull you out of the depression. Addicted runners frequently get highs off the naturally occuring hormone in the system.

Try and think of something funny to you. This also helps pull you out of a depression.

There is a website called mytherapy.net. You can talk with therapists via IM. You have to pay, but it can often be more affordable than talking to someone in person. Try googling "etherapy". There are a bunch of people who can help you over the internet. It's what I do and it's really helpful. Good luck. Everything will be OK!

How the hell would I know.? There is a Dr Frank that answers a lot of questions, but only on here. You could e-mail the samaritans as many times as you like, jo@samaritans .org.uk or you can phone them 24hrs a day on (from US) 44-08457909090 they will talk to you for as long as you like anytime, night or day.
